Funny how the stats for Trans-Nationals matches that of individuals to a tee.

1% controls 40%.

This may or may not be a naturally occurring structure... but one thing is sure, it is not doing the World any good.

In case anyone was wondering, this is not conspiracy theory. It is merely a data model of trans-national corporate ownership that shows that 147 corporations form an axis of power over the other 46,000+ multi-nationals, and the World Economy in general.

Data modelling, bitches!

Keep in mind that companies are not much more than groups of human beings working peacefully toward a common goal. They've got no coercive capacity for "running the world". It's the STATE, which controls the guns, that passes laws enabling some big companies to become 'powerful'. Look for the gun in the room, people!

"Guns" aren't in themselves negative entities. It's the corporate interests that come along and fire them that are the issue. The state passes those laws because companies that have absurd amounts of money can funnel their resources in through the lobbies which is effectively the same as bribing your congressmen to reinforce and protect the power that they already exert.

It's to me very obvious that the state enables corruption and the corporations makes handy use of it (through lobbying as you suggest). Solution is to end the coercive monopoly of the state. Big firms can't harm us without it.

I think the solution is to erradicate lobbies, or at least the lobby's ability to use money in persuasion. It's bribery on a grand scale, and no real progress can be made with them in place.

The crazy thing about this is that 99% of us know that 1% control everything and yet we do nothing about it.

Bottom line is it happens because we allow it. Every governing administration we have had for the last 100 years had just made it easier and easier for big business to tighten it's grip. The president we have now is no exception. His administration is as corrupt as any other in history. I really thought the people had had their fill with the Bush administration. Obama is a wolf in sheeps clothing. He is hurting those who put him in office more than any other group of people.

Lets just make government even bigger? Create 1000s of new government jobs that we cant afford? Pass new legislation that just fucks the people to no end with regards to our civil liberties.

Whats it gonna take?

R you ready?

People aren't yet hungry enough, ( as in starving for food) As long as the majority have food and shelter, the elites will continue to oppress and rule.

I think your division of government and corporations is arbitrary and unfounded. There is no government separate from economic interests. They are a paid wing of corporatocracy.

If you had any doubts before, the ruling on Citizens United should be an obvious confirmation. Unlimited spending by corporations? And the group had the gall to call themselves citizens...

Multi-national conglomerates (trans nationals) are not beholden to any national laws. You are daft if you think they give a rat's ass about any national government. They simply do their dirtier work in countries where the situation is more amenable. How can you consider a company like Reebok with their child labor sweatshops in Asia... or Apple for that matter? You think they care that such practices are illegal in the nations where their executives have their offices?

Please.

You think that getting rid of governments will get rid of the problem?

Try imagining a future full of mercenary armies like Blackwater (or whatever they have rebranded themselves as now after their bad press piled up). Haliburton will just take over countries on their own... as it stands now, they just get the taxpayers to foot the bill.

Lobbyists, ineffective regulation, ridiculous protectionist laws... these are symptoms of a much deeper and more insidious problem. How anyone could watch the governments of the world line up to give trillions upon trillions of dollars in bailouts and tribute to these "political persons" (who can not starve or suffer) while letting actual human citizens be evicted in droves by those very same corporate welfare recipients, forced to sleep under bridges, and live in massive tent cities... actually starving to death on the streets of the most prosperous nations on Earth... and not recognize the problem here, is either willfully blind, brainwashed, or complicit.

Your account is highly accurate and articulate, and sums it up to a tee. I've been ranting about this for the past two years to anyone who will listen, though other than my outrage i was effectively "standing by", just as the political elites -cronie banksters knew that i and millions like me would. These guys have had it figured out for decades. In the event it gets too hot for them, they will start the mother of all wars to "rally the populance". I believe the gradual erosion of basic freedoms is preparatory for a much bleaker future as the elites are getting increasingly uneasy in the internet age. ( Obamas Internet Kill Button )
