It's to me very obvious that the state enables corruption and the corporations makes handy use of it (through lobbying as you suggest). Solution is to end the coercive monopoly of the state. Big firms can't harm us without it.
meatsimI think your division of government and corporations is arbitrary and unfounded. There is no government separate from economic interests. They are a paid wing of corporatocracy.
If you had any doubts before, the ruling on
Citizens United should be an obvious confirmation. Unlimited spending by corporations? And the group had the gall to call themselves citizens...
Multi-national conglomerates (trans nationals) are not beholden to any national laws. You are daft if you think they give a rat's ass about any national government. They simply do their dirtier work in countries where the situation is more amenable. How can you consider a company like Reebok with their child labor sweatshops in Asia... or Apple for that matter? You think they care that such practices are illegal in the nations where their executives have their offices?
Please.
You think that getting rid of governments will get rid of the problem?
Try imagining a future full of mercenary armies like Blackwater (or whatever they have rebranded themselves as now after their bad press piled up). Haliburton will just take over countries on their own... as it stands now, they just get the taxpayers to foot the bill.
Lobbyists, ineffective regulation, ridiculous protectionist laws... these are symptoms of a much deeper and more insidious problem. How anyone could watch the governments of the world line up to give trillions upon trillions of dollars in bailouts and tribute to these "political persons" (who can not starve or suffer) while letting actual human citizens be evicted in droves by those
very same corporate welfare recipients, forced to sleep under bridges, and live in massive tent cities... actually starving to death on the streets of the most prosperous nations on Earth... and
not recognize the problem here, is either willfully blind, brainwashed, or complicit.

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." ~ Buddha
