So SWIM is thinking about hanging out with Lucy. SWIM hasn't had too much experience with psychedelics. SWIM tried shrooms two separate times about a year and a half ago, and a month ago started experimenting with dmt. SWIM has smoked dmt something like 10 times(only sub-breakthrough doses). So anyway, SWIMS question is; Should lsd be pretty smooth and easily controllable for SWIM since he has done dmt? SWIM might have to engage in conversation with his mother while trippin' so he wants to make sure he can handle an lsd trip.
I'm not sure what to put here, so I guess this is it for now.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

I don't think having done other psychedelics already necessarily makes you more prepared for LSD than someone who hasn't. In my experience, it is a totally different type of journey and having expectations for it to be like other psychedelics could set you back and catch you more by surprise than someone who is new to the scene. You should clear your mind of all expectations and be completely open to the experience because in reality you can never be truly prepared. All you can really do is keep an open mind and prepare an optimal set and setting i.e. not having the possibility of talking to your mother when you're not sure you can handle it.

Thank you for the reply. I was just thinking that because dmt is so powerful, maybe having done it would make one handle lsd better. Oh and the thing with my mom isn't a big deal, I could probably tell her I'm just really high. But how is lsd? I've heard it's really fun. And how many hits should I take my first time?

LSD can be a lot of fun, or it can be a very introspective self critical journey, or many other things - I find it is based very much on the direction you want to go, who you do it with, your mind set, setting etc etc. There are a lot of factors that come into play - particularly when the journey can last a good 12 hrs, possibly more (also possibly less lol). Sure DMT may be intense, but its over within 30 minutes. Shrooms also only last maybe a third to half the time an acid trip does. Tripping for such a long time can have some unexpected effects on both you and the outcome of the trip, which would not be so apparent with shorter acting substances.

I have had trips where I was pretty much incapable of talking for a few hours, and talking to my Mum during that period would have been confusing and stressful. Do not underestimate the power of acid, it is one of the most potent drugs in existence.

As for dosage, I would start off with maybe 1 tab, assuming they are around 100 mics and build from there. Remember that you can always take more, but you can't untake an overly heavy dose

I also would recommend maybe doing it with at least one other person if it's your first time. Group LSD sessions can be amazing and seemingly telepathic. Like Purges, I too have had LSD experiences where I was incapable of forming a sentence, and anything I did say sounded absolutely bonkers to anyone not on LSD, so it's nice to have someone there who actually understands what you're saying and going through. This is also why I strongly do not recommend trying to talk to your mum during this experience. It may just be me, but with things like mushrooms usually no one can tell if I'm on anything. I might just seem more compassionate. Whereas on a good dose of LSD, I might seem mad as a hatter.

Heed Purges' warning. Do not underestimate the power of Acid.

LSD for me does seem to be a bit more controllable than some of the other psychedelics out there, but it can really vary from situation to situation. If you start having a bit of a negative experience, I've found that it's easier to pull yourself out of "the hole" than on shrooms for example. There was a period where I would drop a tab or two and walk over to my friends' apartment. No one ever knew I was on anything unless I said something. Even then, I may have been there for like two hours before mentioning anything, and then when I would people would be quite surprised....that is until it happened a bunch of times and then they still wouldn't know till I said something, but they became less and less surprised Wink Anyway, I've had to interact with my mom I think twice now when I was on acid, and it's always been pretty easy. You gotta remember that just because the world is melting around you, doesn't mean that it is for everyone else. This sounds like common sense, but in the throws of a trip, it can be easy to forget.
