Hah ironically I just had the same type of experience and like you I was a little uncomfortable with the idea of looking in the mirror. I took a nice dose and plunged in front of the mirror. Almost instantly I began to see myself morph. First it appeared as if my flesh began to blotch up and every blemish lit up my face and it was at first scary to witness but I was able to accept it and move on. At that very moment I transformed myself into a pure state of bliss. My face began to like become the only thing in focus the it became my eyes in focus and finally both of my eyes simply joined together in the center of my forehead to form what I assume is my third eye.

Thank you for sharing that. Sounds like one hell of an experience. Was it your first time looking into your eyes, or do you do it often?

I have actually experienced this before but not to such the extent as I posted above. Reflecting back on it now I remember looking into the mirror as if it was someone else's image... Yet still my own if that makes sense. It was as if I went from being the observer to being the observed. This transformation stripped me of my flesh and showed me in clear sight the aspect of my ego. At this point both the eyes had joined to a single point and I began to move towards the mirror slowly filling up my entire sight until my face was pressed into the glass as far as it could. If anyone would have seen that I would probably be in a looney bin right now but to me it was a moment of enlightenment and true bliss. The beauty and inspiration that I seen within the abyss of my eyes pupils were both very comforting and unsettling at the same time reminding me forever of this thing we call the Yin and Yang. I believe its about realizing both aspects. We are disgusting things of gas and waste with primitive urges while at the same time being the most benevolent and beautiful of all consciousness. I love all that I am and all that is even though my ultimate fate will be to grow sick and die but while I can appreciate the moment of now and accept this experience than what I see in the mirror is a reflection of what I truly believe myself to be without regard to any external influences.

Hey! Sorry I'm late to the thread. You guys didn't invite me Razz Here's how this shit works.

Yes. You can move around on DMT. Yes you can do it on high doses. How do I know this? Because I can dance, walk, spin, run, etc on ~70mg. It's not an if, it's already been done. I'll make a video if you want me to.

This is how I came about the skill of it. If you want to learn to walk around on DMT, try an ayahuasca analogue. Dose an MAOI, wait 30min, dose your dose. While it soaks in, I lie down on my bed with my feet hanging off the edge of the bed on the ground. Do some vipassana and meditate downward into your body. You may feel nauseous depending on the quality of brew you made, DO NOT WORRY about it. There are only two possibilities. You will throw up or you won't. Obvious, but true. If you will throw up, there will be a threshold point reached in the saturation of the chemicals and your body will make it 100% clear that it is the time to purge. If you are still thinking about whether to purge. Stop. Your body will decide for you, but keep it down as long as possible. When it is finally time to purge, you will get up and go purge, either into a receptacle on the floor or in a nearby bathroom. After the necessity of throwing up is over... TADA! You have walked under the influence of DMT, walk around for a bit to get used to it. Then once you have the hang of it, go smoke some more DMT and go for a walk in the universe.

On the matter of looking at yourself in the mirror:

I have two theories about what the nature of this experience is. Neither are proven, but just from personal experience. I believe the actual truth is a hybrid between the two.

1 - When you look at a mirror on a psychedelic it sheds the mental filter you have developed for yourself over time. You look, usually unprepared, at a fresh impression of yourself devoid of any illusions you created. Like seeing a bad photograph of yourself. It will show you all the aspects about yourself you brain normally hides from yourself if it does so. Some people already have an illusion free perception of themselves and as such would not experience this part of the mirror staring experience. Others who significantly delude themselves will be faced with an alien person who appears as a horrible caricature of themselves. Your true self is a balance between the two sides. The side of the spiritless material, and the side of the person your creative consciousness generates.

2 - Modern science hypothesizes that there are infinite multiple universes. It might be possible that when staring into a mirror on psychedelics that your expanded consciousness is able to see in the mirrors reflection the reflection of the section of other universes in which you also happen to be in your bathroom staring at a mirror at that exact moment and moving in the exact pattern. The morphing is your shifting perspective sliding between the perceived other you's, that much is true at least. Whether they actually exist or not is speculation. This could also account for Theory 1 as someone who lacks understanding of Theory 2 might experience it and it could create a fearful response to seeing a different you, when expecting to see yourself, which the psychedelics would then amplify and strengthen leading to such horrible stories that have been stereotyped into staring at mirrors.

The key to handling fear and psychedelics is actually relatively simple. First start with an objective assessment of what fear is. Fear is a biological reaction to perceived danger. This takes place as a flood of bodily chemicals. Those chemicals then mix with the consciousness on psychedelics which amplifies them and can create a feedback loop of fear, terror, and amplification.
If one instead heads the reaction of at the beginning, that is entirely averted. Educate yourself on your substance, your setting, and your safety. When you know that at the end of the experience you will survive, then realize that any fear is an instinctive reaction and is not beneficial to the experience of expanded consciousness. Just because the body doesn't know what is going on doesn't mean your mind can't. Stay centered in your knowledge of safety, and reassure your body that things are okay by giving it a light massage while consciously relaxing and controlling your breathing. When practiced, this process will help to eliminate everything from mild anxiety to, hopefully, intense fear. I cannot vouch for intense fear though, because the method has been so personally successful that after my first, and only, bad trip where the mantra "Don't worry, you are on drugs, this was supposed to happen," provided excellent guidance. Now I do not EVER get anywhere near bad trips as I can easily control my body, mind, and its responses to the administration of a new substance. (My first time ever on LSD I just jumped for 5 hits, it was easymode. I'll be doing far more next time lol, I want it to last longer.)

Remember that when you try a new substance, just like you must adjust mentally as the experience comes on, you must adjust physically. What you feel is your bodies reaction to a new foreign chemical. Be confident and accept the feeling(and the chemical) and you will find that anxiety and fear are nothing more than a creation of your body and instinctive consciousness. Now that you see that, let yourself expand and keep going. Good hunting.

Don't get me wrong thatmentat. Your posting was very informative and well written. Good advice for anybody who may have needed it, but I think you mistook us for new users. I can't speak for anybody but myself, but I am nowhere near new to this. Also if you read the earlier posts we had already discussed and agreed that you can walk around on it.

This is some beautiful advice, Thatmentat.

Actively exercising a beneficial perspective on an overwhelming experience is helpful both during trip experiences and in sober life as well. This is how experienced meditators (who spend their time in meditation practising beneficial responses) come to view even the most trying of circumstances as trivial matters that are only a reflexive response of the mind and body --- a response that is the within the individual's power to choose and experience accordingly.

Training oneself in such self-aware responses is perhaps one of the most beneficial activities a human being can exercise.
Sol Reverie is a fictitious creation of a lunatic mind, as are all of these statements.

Sorry that I came across that way, I wasn't trying to educate you, but rather just to add my opinion into the argument. I did see you guys had figured it out, I just wanted to throw my hat into the ring. I am actually new to this, so I'm not trying to teach anyone lol, just share.

It's my fault. I should have just respected your opinions and help. You did a very good job with describing everything. I also really liked Death&Decay's experience account. You did a good job at wording yours as well.

No need for blame silly. It is simply part of interactions between minds that cannot perfectly transfer ideas. Even telepaths might not always understand each others meanings or motives.

This is a little off and on topic, but I wanted to share a verse I wrote about my experience. I find writing a beautiful form of release, and I invite anyone to post any verses they may have written. I have a deep appreciation for music and would love to read what anybody has wrote. Also keep in mind I'm not a professional so if you think it sucks. You may be right, and critic is always welcome and truly appreciated. Also please keep in mind this is only a first draft so there may be places that need to be tweaked.

I close my eyes
Finish my rip
Hearts beating faster
As I begin to trip
Minutes turn to seconds
Keep control
As I begin to lose my grip
I stand and make my moves quickly
Careful each step
As my legs get real shaky
Quickly, I get to the mirror
Today is the day
I face a long time fear
I brace against the counter
I breathe in deeply
Now's the time
The day I see the real me
Question running my mind
What will I see
Eyes the window to your soul
What will my reflection be
Will I see the good man
Or the monster inside me
I stare deep
Just for a moment
Time elapsed
Only 5 seconds
Short time, to mean so much
This day
In my memory it left its touch
I saw the man
Before the glass
Saw him for now
Not his past
Who I am
I begin to grasp
I now rest easy
Knowing
I'm a good person at last

Imagine sitting on a balcony in a crowded area on influence of dmt. With all those different people passing by i truly wonder what you would see! I really hope i have this talent with dmt aswell.

Very helpful posts here in understanding what you see in the mirror and intergrating some experiences.

Looking in the mirror on psyches are one of the most interesting experiences. I've heared loads about it. To me, they have ranged from very unsettling to awe-inspiring. I remember being absorbed by the mirror when looking into it. I'd see myself normally, but at the same time i see my face screaming in agony. This ofcourse amplified the panicky state i already was in and usually am when i take mushrooms. Truly useful to think of this as supressed unconscious material so i can do something about it now.

On other times, i've been watching my dogs and how amazingly cool and "alien" they look. Thinking of earth as just another place in the stars it's logical that beings here can be just as awesome as on any planet. This little dog of my parents is full of energy and when ur truly in the moment he looks like hes from outer space. Watching him run around the garden i can see him as he is truly created and meant to be. Perfect.
On this same trip i looked at myself in the mirror and while i was nitpicking on all the negative self-images like messy hair and an unshaved face i looked into my eyes and i was mesmerized. My face may not have been that polished but my eyes looked perfect. Those dilated pupils make it look extra special. Ofcourse when i took a better objective look i saw myself in the same light i saw my dog. Alien and awesome.

Another time i looked in the mirror and i got "flashbacks" of a sea of fractalled chatedral glass. With bright colours and the intense sensation of actually being fully immersed into the monochromatic fractals. Short but very powerful. I believe it's an experience to come, possibly this is what dmt will be like for me. Or an intense ayahuasca experience in the Santo Daime, as that seemed to be the style.

Thank you for sharing that. I loved the parts about the dog. I too have a dog, a young puppy, and it is an endless source of fun when I'm tripping. I'm beginning to believe that dogs start tripping when their masters do. I noticed how dilated my pupils become while in a full episode, and the other day I noticed my dogs were as well. I've also read many reports about other members dogs, and it sounds (to me at least) that their animal was tripping too.

Thank god for your dog right! It's amazing how much enjoyment you can get out of a dog. Now that I trip with her sometimes, I am closer then ever to mans best friend.

I think this is an awesome post.
