Everyone please send good vibes to Antrocles. He is in a hospital in Mexico with a bad case of dengue. He is alright but it's very painful. I know all of us nexians have either learned a lot allready - or will still learn alot from antrocles or his posts. We need this mans influence here, so lets help return him quickly to health.  This news is breaking my heart and my zen calm. I knew he was already looking for a surgical solution for back issues and now this - what is known as "Break Bone Fever." It hurts me to read this. There are so many burned out and cynical people in the world. So much pain. Antrocles has his share of all of this and moar but he always strives first to give, to reach out to others, to attempt to use the resources that remain at his fingertips and mind's edge to promote healing. I don't pray but I surely do hope and I will accept whatever happens, as we all must. But, oh do I sincerely hope this does not turn into Dengue Hemmorragic Fever or Dengue Shock Syndrome. I find myself wanting to be angry and yet realize there is no point. Get well as soon as possible brother and know that this and other communities are pulling as hard for you as possible in ALL realms. Wishing all the best to Antrocles during this hard time.
I caught Dengue fever this July while out in Vietnam doing fieldwork for my master's degree. Wasn't fun, was very uncomfortable during the peak of the fever but the worse of it didn't last long, so hope he can be strong, as he definitely seems to be, and ride it out. Being a virus, there isn't much they can do, they just prescribed me paracetamol and told me to rest and drink fluids...since this time I have a new found respect for paracetamol. I was pretty much back on my feet and healthy around two weeks after starting to experience symptoms.

I have no doubt that Ant will recover soon, and he will be much stronger and wiser when he returns. our love is with you dear Ant!
