"This is not the mercurial world of the UFO, to be invoked from lonely hilltops; this is not the siren song of lost Atlantis wailing through the trailer courts of crack-crazed America. DMT is not one of our irrational illusions. What we experience in the presence of DMT is real news. It is a nearby dimension — frightening, transformative, and beyond our powers to imagine, and yet to be explored in the usual way. We must send fearless experts, whatever that may come to mean, to explore and to report on what they find." - Terence Mckenna.... I believe with everything I have that the last sentence refers to the nexus more then anyone else I could imagine.

It's really a shame that Terence never lived to see the nexus. I'm sure if he were alive, he'd probably be posting here of all places, and we might have even had the chance to get into intellectual debates. Hell, maybe we could've even changed his mind on certain issues, as I'm sure after hearing what we have to say, he might have revised and refined some of his thoughts. Oh the possibilities! Shame...

To think what it would have been like to pick the brain of one such as himself would have been amazing. I think the site should have a special dedications page to people like Mckenna, Strassman, and others who have led the way into the research we continue.

Once I had the chance to met Terence McKenna. Had dinner with him and afterwards did some electronic live-music
as an Introduction to his Talk.
Unfortunately my ability for an intelectual disscusion in english, to this time, was weak to non existent. Sad
But overall, for me it's an abiding memory.

I also met Terrence.

A few times actually, and we had some amazing talks. In college he spoke at my campus and I got to pick his brain while we puffed doobage.

Years later, I was a guest at his Hawaii ethnobotanical garden resort. He gave me and my friend permission to harvest the chacruna leaves that fell off his bushes. We tried to refrain from shaking them overly. Pleased

He, like most people I know who have had truly extensive experience in Hyperspace, believed that this was a real place and that the beings met there are authentic entities and not merely our brains farting. If you go deep enough, hang around long enough, have enough respect, and work on your ability to recall what transpires... eventually you will bring back some piece of information that will serve as undeniable proof for you. I have seen even the most staunch "it's all in your brain" types make 180 degree flip flops after something an entity downloaded to them panned out in a big way.

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." ~ Buddha

I remember listening to a Terence McKenna lecture - that I downloaded from bit torrents - where he extolled the virtues of the internet and predicted how vitally important it would be in the future. I'm not sure what year it was recorded, but he was encouraging people to start using e-mail. I suddenly realized I was introduced to Terence McKenna in a chance youtube encounter, he appeared before me like some kind of digitized ghost! Now he lives in my ipod. I can only imagine how much he would love the nexus.

He was a great, and good person in a world where there are so few now. It's people like him that give you hope that humans are not doomed to be ignorant, and that we have the power within ourselves to answers some of life's biggest and oldest questions.

:O ... The most significant thing about my breakthrough, next-fucking-level experience, was the fact that prior to it. I already grasped what was about to occur(since I was already on ayahuasca) and I wasn't just fearless, fear did not even exist. I had already realized its illusion and went in with excitement and curiosity. Terence was also a crucial part of my path to the experience. I love that man. He is a wonderful guru.
