Quick drop by cuz i noticed MDMA molecule looks like the DMT 'BEE' Smile

ALSO -> WARNING NOTHING TO DO WITH DMT BUT EVEYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR TENDER YOUNG EARS

I got a flu virus, blew my nose, something popped, lost 1/2 my hearing in my right ear! All the high-frequencies are gone, i had an MRI, am on steroid, so it should/might come back totally or at least partially within a few months.. BUT FUCK!!!! Who ever knew?!

So I just wanted to warn you guys, careful with your ears, i only now did all the googling over the past few weeks to realize how sensitive an organ they are.. PLENTY of musicians screw their ears up, and even more young guys shooting guns. Even one bullet too close to the ear, or one explosion, and you could end up like me or worse.

Not to scare you, i did spent 9 years working at clubs and dancing for raves in front of speaker sets 15 feet high for 12 hours in a row, and that didn't do it.... i think it's more like a virus, or a one-time REALLY loud noise that has a lot of air-pressure with it (bullet, explosion, etc)

One last thing please guys.... PRAY FOR ME!!! Fuck i want all my hearing back Sad Or at least.. most? Please? DMT Gods if you can hear me in the holographic dimension?! Salvia beings.... I'll get on your wonder wheel again soon and let you scare the fuck out of me again if you come through with this one...? Pretty please?!!??

I know how you feel. I got some kind of nerve damage from bad dentistry years ago. It messed up my eustachian tubes ability to stay open, and a few other weird things in that general area. I now have about 50% hearing in my right ear from this and probably loud music and to be honest I'm not really sure. I have vague memories of being smacked in the head with a ball really hard there, or maybe it was the fact I did martial arts for 10 years and sustained hundreds of kicks to the head...
It also feels closed up, like I have a dent in my existence. Also sharp pains occur from time to time. You know the only thing I've ever found that gives this relief was LSD believe it or not...

It's just the way that I am now. Sometimes healthy folks don't realize how quickly things can change. I know it can be hard to deal with, I've totally freaked out about it before, but eventually it becomes a part of you and you grow to accept it. I am sorry to hear about your hearing loss. Be well flyboy.

My husband has lost a lot of the hearing in his right ear over the years due to loud music exposure (Dead Tour) and three boughts with the flue that yielded ear infections that led to bleeding holes in his eardrums. Horribly painful and had a lasting impact on his hearing. BUT, things did heal up after awhile. Needless to say, it took a lot longer than we wanted it to and I presume he still has small holes, but everything is much better. Hang and there and for Heaven's sake, see a doctor if at all possible. That popping is not a good sign.

I don't know if this will work for you, but the advice I'm about to give is something that I've been practicing a lot lately that really seems to help. I would just start imagining that you already have your hearing back and really try and get in the emotional space of having already achieved the healing process. Really feel the sort of uplift and gratitude of having already gotten back all your hearing and what sort of emotions and sensations that carry with it. If you can truly occupy this kind of a mindset, I've found great things to happen.

Will be sending positive energy your way. I know how much I appreciate sound, be it music or noise (the difference?) so I know how much it must mean to you. Stay positive.

I hope everything gets back to normal for you. Loss of hearing is one of my worst fears. The ears are truly sensitive, it just takes one mishap to fuck it up for life. Long term damage from clubs/concerts is def possible.

To everyone else, don't believe that "if its too loud, you're too old" crap. Everyone I know these days wears earplugs to shows and if you forget them- tear off a piece of paper towel and use that. Theres cheap reusable earplugs on amazon that just lower the decibals but keep the frequencies.

Again, best of luck to you flyboy.

I'll pray for ya, man. I would suggest having the expectation that you will get your hearing back. Visualize it. Really feel it.

Try and get your hands on a herbal concoction called "Schwedenkrauter" of" Schwedenbitter". It's a real Godsend for all kinds of ear problems ( and many other things as well)
Don't know if it's easy to get in the USA, but in central Europe it's widely available. It's helped me countless times for all sorts of problems, but especially the ears.

Chances are your hearing will improve gradualy over time. But I know, at first it's scary and frustrating.

Hang in there!

I have a slight ear ringing due to too many loud drummers mostly
I use earplugs always now . The ringing is pronounced only in very quiet
Settings . its very annoying and depressing to think about .
The scary thing is that most hearing damage is irreversible

I've lost some frequencies on one ear to because of a firecracker exploding next to my ear. Sucks, because hearing piano music for instance sounds like a low quality 24kbs mp3 to me now (partially). And some Tinnitus.

Get well!

Have you tried getting them cleaned out by a doctor? When I was younger I had one ear that was like 50% and went to see the doc... They cleaned them out with a big syringe fullof warm water... The amount of stuff that came out was staggering and I could hear Again!
This, what I'm experiencing now, is a whole new level of my being.

If the doctors felt an MRI was necessary then this is going to be a sensorineural loss of hearing and this fits in with treating it with steroids and the high frequency loss.Im betting youve not had any vertigo with this.

Is that oral treatment or into the ear? Do you know if your eardrum on that side has perforated or not?
Im sure an otoscopic exam would have been done ie look into the ear, and wax build-up in the auditory canal would not give such a sudden onset or symptoms this marked after just blowing the nose..

I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Hearing loss is definitely something I never worried about it until it happened to me. It started with the sudden onset of tinnitus in both ears that never went away. A year and half ago I got a hearing test and found out I had minor hearing loss in the high frequencies. Last month I got another test and things are getting progressively worse. I'm starting to have a hard time hearing speech, especially in areas with a lot of ambient noise. Hearing aids seem to be in my near future. Without my high frequencies speech loses its definition and sounds fuzzy.

I don't mind the chronic tinnitus (ringing in my head) most of the time. I learned to accept it as part of my experience of reality, which took some practice. However, having to ask people to repeat themselves really sucks. They don't seem to like it.

I have been exposed to a lot of loud noise, but not as much as some. Everyone's hearing is different, says my audiologist. Some people just have heartier ears I guess. Now I'm really careful. I got custom musician earplugs to wear at loud shows, which I highly recommend. It could be argued they even enhance the sound, and you can actually hear what your friends are saying better than if you were not wearing them.

Never ever take your hearing for granted!

I hope you get yours back flyboy.

Basically, what everyone else is saying.

I would only add, that you could try ear candles. If the drum is perforated, or you have serious problems, you might wanna ask your doctor first, as they do put a little bit of vacuum pressure on the ears.

However, if you have ever tried them, you will know that the amount of wax one can easily remove from one's ears is a staggering and frightening amount. Especially if one is getting on in the years, and never really cleaned the ears out. Even people who are good about cleaning their ears can get grams of wax to come out.

It seems likely to me that too much wax can block channels and create pressure situations. Blowing your nose too hard could push chunks of wax into a position where the pressure gets extreme. The same thing happens with scuba divers who have too much wax in the ears.

That reminds me... scuba enthusiasts often use some special ear drops that evaporate water and clear out wax. Maybe those could help.

Tinnitus

I have noticed that bouts of tinnitus can be triggered by deep meditation or entheogen experiences. The feeling for me is that some tinnitus might not be connected to hearing damage or loud music at all... rather, the yogic explanation might be in effect. Many schools of yoga, meditation, chi kung etc. all talk about high pitched noises that practitioners might encounter on their path. These are considered psychic sounds or the perception of energy. In much the same way that practitioners can train themselves to the point where they can see normally invisible energy in the form of auras and chi... there is also a type of extrasensory hearing. Clairaudience, perception of the energy frequencies, the cosmic aum... who knows?

Meditating on the tinnitus like sounds, though, can produce profound psycho-spiritual reactions.

Also, many people have probably had the experience of hearing high pitched noises when some electronic device in your vicinity is switched on. I can hear tones that I now associate with being near high voltage power lines, microwave towers, and other such things. The sounds are easily identifiable, and European voltage actually sounds different from American.

This is not to say that people with actual physical damage should ignore it. Just adding some food for thought.

I've had tinnitus for over a year now from an insanely loud Gang Gang Dance concert in a tiny club. It certainly was not pleasant for the first 6-8 months. I was freaking out for awhile and became obsessively bothered by the ringing which was making all sorts of high pitched waves and tones. I've heard its the nerves for high pitched noise that go first from too much noise exposure or amplitude and then become defective, as if they're permanently in the 'on' position of sensing a sound, producing the endless ring.

After long enough time and a break from my rather large headphones, the noises really died down and now they don't really bother me at all. I'm still weary of getting back to using headphones though, which is unfortunate as that's definitely my preferred way of listening to music. I'll probably start using high quality ear plugs under the headphones.

My advice to others would be to always use earplugs at concerts these days to preserve your hearing as much as possible. Free earplugs always can be gotten at the bar of the venue. Bands are usually so loud anymore that even cheap earplugs still allow you to fully hear the music, which says just how loud and punishing the noise really is to the naked eardrum.

I also suffer from tinnituses and hyperacusis and when I have to be in a loud environment (which for me can even mean a loud street) I use these :

These are molded to the shape of your ear and provide a linear attenuation of -25dB, since the attenuation is linear it won't
distort the sounds at all which is in sharp contrast to disposable earplugs.

Can you give a link of where to find these earplugs Justine?

I would really be interested in getting ahold of some. I <3 my ears... or what's left of them.
