I caved and bought a big bag of columbian medium roast organic beans when I was at the store..I never drank any yet though..I will sooner or later and see how it effects me.

You'll be fine. Just start off low. Take it with food. Bliss!

Yes, you'll enjoy, I'm certain. Treating it like an ally, taking time to savor it, following these simple brewing guidelines, and having a fellow conversationalist or some cleaning chores on hand will make for a spectacular cup!

Good luck fractal!

Coffee is a great ally to have when the house needs cleaning... so I think I'll go brew some right meow.

So–

I am having a month break from coffee as an experiment I thought up whilst chatting to my gf. She is certain that it affects my sleep, I am not so sure.

Whilst I drink quite a lot of coffee my sleep problems have existed for as long as I have been alive (I have only been drinking coffee heavily since 16 or so) and have been problematic since I started secondary school.

So I am taking month off to see the effects, so far (3 days in) I am fancying going to sleep from 1 and 3am, as opposed to my usual 4–6am. My main issue – the fact that I can’t stop thinking when I turn the lights off – usually 1–2 hours before managing to sleep is still the same though.

As for my current dose, the day before I began coffee abstinence I drank either 5 or 6 cups of strong (large heaped teaspoon) instant coffee by 1pm. I am interested by the fact that many people seem to have terrible withdrawal effects from caffeine. So far I have noticed nothing except fancying having a coffee, in which case just drinking a cup of redbush has done the job.

Will see how the experiments goes…
