Yea those drums are sick, i think it would be hard to make one, it's do-able maybe try search for hang drum how to make tutorial, i am sure i have seen it over the web, and there are probably multiple ways you can make it, because there are multiple tunings and sounds you can create.

I plan to just purchase one when the time comes.

P.s. also try haapi drum i have seen them called that to or are a different style or something, idk check it out, good luck.

Something about $3000 and a long waiting list.

Last I heard, they were temporarily out of production. I think pan art are the only folk who make them.

Also they won't fix one if you purchased it second hand.

But yes... I'd give my left nut and such and such...

Im not accomplished really i would say but i am a metalsmith and have access to everything i would need just by looking at the basic structure and divets and bumps. the hapi would probably be MUCH easier. I have one of these from the Think family its called a tongue drum and its very fun but difficult as the "tongues" are very small.

nice, well after a few prototypes, im sure you will fabricate something really nice and fun to playSmile

the tongue drum imo would be much easier to build (because its wood) but if metal is your medium...

i actually have one of those tongue drums, it looks like the same artist! mine only has 6 tongues. very nice sound

The hang drum is so sick. I was looking into it after I saw the live Shpongle videos. Really hard to get, hopefully they start making them again. Check out this vid from Shpongle at Roundhouse.
