That’s right. I don’t take cuttings until I’m ready to harvest the entire plant. I usually wait until they’re at least 4 feet tall.

thank you guys for your advices and nice words. I am glad that they are ok and I guess I will just have to wait till they establish them self.

I have 3 different pots sizes. I think the salvia from the smallest pot may need transplanting at some point. Gibran2 your pots on the pictures look quite small so I did not think I may need transplanting.I though that the smallest one I have is about the same size as your pot.

I will post update again once they have gown a bit more Smile

The pot in my photos is 7" in diameter and 8" tall. I'd consider that to be a medium-sized pot for salvia.

As long as it is good as an all-purpose plant food it should be fine. Smile

Well it dose not say its all-purpose plant food. Its Tomato food.

It says it can also be used on other plants round the garden. It is especially good for flowering plants and hanging baskets.

Should I rather buy some else ?

There are 3 numbers used to describe fertilizer. They represent: nitrogen – phosphorous – potassium. If these 3 numbers are about the same (such as 10 – 10 – 10) then it will be fine for salvia.

N - 5%
Ph - 2%
Po - 5%

Is it too big difference ?

Little update about my plants. They did grow quite a bit yupiii Smile

I am a little bit worried about the plant though, if you look at the picture I marked it what is worrying me. It looks like the leaves are bending a bit. Does that indicate something or is it all ok ?

Yea shouldn't worry about it, the plant is just going through a little shock it will pop back up.

Also idk if someone mentioned super thrive is great for cuttings, and same with rooting hormone

Super thrive found at home depot most hardware store or garden places.

This is rooting hormone great for cuttings good luck Smile

Ok so I had the problem with black flies that is now sorted kind of there are still some flies but I believe in few days this problem will be sorted.

there is one more thing I want to ask about. The leaves got brown on the edges and ends (not all of them). has this got to do with those flies or is this some other problem ? if yes what do I need to help my plants ? I feel like they suffer a bit and I do not like it. When I look on gibran2 plant I know that there is something I must be doing wrong.

Here are some picks :

Browning on the edges of leaves could have many different causes: Too much water, too little humidity, too much humidity, physical damage due to wind or other causes, etc.

The problem doesn’t seem to be excessive – I wouldn’t worry about it. Remember, salvia likes to be left alone. The more you do to your plant, the more you might upset it.

I think my plants are dying Sad , I tried all I could but now they have all the leafs brown and look very unhappy.

I don't know what to do. should I harvest what I have and make some new cuttings and try again ?

Sorry to hear that your plants aren't doing well. It's hard to say what the problem might be. Is your soil always wet? Maybe you have root rot. Hard to say.

If the stems seem sturdy, you might want to try taking cuttings. If they're limp or otherwise unhealthy, you might have trouble rooting them. Sad

The clawed and burned leaves looks like a build up of nutrients (N mainly) in the soil. Not read the whole thread so dont know if your soil already contains a slow release fert.
If they're still alive flush the pots 2-3 times with fresh water to get rid of any possible nutrient build up.
