Hi Ash
There's absolutely no need in this world to SWIM for Sodium Carbonate. This is a very common household chemical used in cleaning. You can even make it with Sodium BIcarbonate (Baking Soda) by baking it in the oven @ 400F for 3 hours and it converts.
Don't use that eBay crap.

Ash, just go into Sainsbury's, Tesco, or any supermarket available and buy some Bicarbonate of Soda, then do as house explained and bake it. No need to go buying it online when you can probably get it cheaper from across the street

comes in a yellow box contains pure sodium carbonate I discovered this at wally world a few weeks ago. I couldn't buy it fast enough. It will last me forever. I've been looking for a long time, and still haven't found it anywhere else. I haven't actively looked, but check sometimes when I'm down the detergents isle. I just happened to notice it next to a same-size box of bicarbonate. It's easy enough to make, but nicer to use straight out of a $3.50 box.

Depends what impurities, can you find more about it?
Did you do an evap test in your solvent?
Before using, you could do both an acidic wash as well as a sodium carbonate wash on your solvent. This could help getting rid of some potential impurities (like certain rust inhibitors), but its no guarantee to clean everything, so thats why its important to try to find out what impurities could be present, and to do an evap test and see if it leaves residues

I use Newport lighter fluid usually and I've used ronsonol. Both seemed fine to me, came up clean on evap. Newport's the one I use mostly as it's easier to find. Joined at the soul with a pair of headphones

Dont use it, naphtha turning red with sodium carbonate? That sounds very wrong
Also, if it doesnt evap clean, thats def no good! get something that has nothing else and that evaps clean. If it doesnt evap clean, do not use it.

If you consider cloudy naptha impure then I could take it off your hands..... All jokes aside, cloudy white naptha is the sign for concentrated DMT. Hard part is over, time to reap the rewards of your work!

I get mine from Te$co @ £1.10/133mL and I have never seen anything questionable in it. Also for future reference rather than putting your sodium bicarbonate in the oven to do the conversion the stove top is far faster. You can do the conversion in about 15 minutes at a high heat (not sure about a whole kg though! I normally convert ~100g at a time).

I hope this is ok to ask, but am I right that a sodium carbonate wash gets rid of lye and plant fats, leaving white crystals? Is there anything else needed after a STB to get pure dmt? My eyes are soon to be open! Cant wait!

sodium carb wash gets rid of lye, not of plant fats. Plant fats, oils, will preffer the non-polar layer than the water layer. Its possible that even without washing your crystals will be white, or its possible wash will help, or its possible even after washing they will still be yellow. This depends on several factors (your plant material characteristics, your exact solvent, how well you mixed and how warm it was, if its first pulls or last pulls, etc). In any case, if by any chance you get some result you are not happy with, you can always recrystallize. Instructions to recrystallize are in our FAQ.
