Note: This is now on the Wiki under Leaf Enhancement in the Nexian Handbook

This will be a two part guide when it is completed.

The first half is how to make Changa with extracted harmalas.
The second half will be how to make Changa with a menstrum. (That will be completed in approx 30 days)

What you'll need for this first half.

Methanol or Ethanol (preferred) - Isopropyl Alcohol/Acetone will NOT work well for dissolving harmalas
Shot glass
150mg harmine
100mg harmaline
1000mg full spectrum spice
750mg mullein
250mg sacred lotus pedals

Warning: Please keep in mind, do NOT breathe in methanol vapors. Methanol is the more toxic of the alcohols but it works the best for harmalas. It is recommended to use Ethanol if possible. Also, make sure you evap everything completely. You do NOT want to smoke any traces of methanol.

Step 1:
Pour your alcohol into a shot glass.

Step 2:
Dissolve 150mg harmine into the alcohol

Step 3:
Dissolve 100mg harmaline into the alcohol

Step 4:
Dissolve 1000mg of spice into the alcohol

All of the harmalas and spice dissolved

Step 5:
Place 750mg of mullein into the alcohol

Step 6:
Evaporate the alcohol

Step 7:
Remove the dried changa from shotglass and move to a baking pan or bowl for further evaporation.

Step 8:
Tear up the lotus pedals and add to the mix

Step 9:
Pack a bowl, bong, gvg, spliff or any other preferred smoking device and enjoy!

I still cringe from my heet experience.... Ewh...
But I am glad your put this up there!

Sweet, thanks Dorge Very happy

Yeah, with HEET, you've gotta give it the extra time to evap fully. I've never seen anything dissolve harmalas so fast though. Thats the main reason why I use and recommend it.

I think the KISS method is King as well. It seems the common trend is to over complicate changa. Hopefully this guide will help people keep it to the basics.

Thanks Mindlusion, we can go ahead and add it to the wiki now and update it when I finish the Tek.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a changa tek either. Better late than never I guess. Very happy

For those who don't know, don't go breathing Methanol vapors. It is rather harmful.
I would recommend IPA over Methanol.

Just wanted to add that 500mg freebase harmalas did not dissolve in 91% IPA but did just fine in 40% ethanol.

Yep works fine in ethanol.

I'm curious, how do you know that mullein sucked all of the mixture evenly?
Is it possible that some parts of it contain more mixture?
My reality does not exist.

Does anyone have a general idea of the solubility of freebase harmalas mg/ml in ethanol versus IPA? I know ethanol is a better solvent but I was looking for some specific numbers and have been unable to find them. The only reason I would prefer to use IPA is that ethanol is ridiculously expensive here.

I've often wondered about this as well. I'm not sure if there is any way to know for sure.

I try to evap the liquid down enough so that when I add the mullein, it will soak up the mixture like a sponge. I can only assume that it is distributed evenly. A nice stir with a wooden chop stick will help mix it up but I really don't know for sure.

If you take some freebase harmalas and try to dissolve them in IPA it simply won't work. They will just stay at the bottom of the container and never dissolve. At least that's been my experience. I don't think heating the solution up helps either.

With m/ethanol, they dissolve quite rapidly.

I've dissolved harmalas in vodka before. It takes a little longer for the water content to evap but it does work a LOT better than IPA.

I know it's toxic, but methanol (HEET) is still my favorite solvent for harmalas. Smile

This is just a total of 1 gram of plant substrate. Is that correct?

Correct. You could use different plants and herbs, just keep the total amount of plant matter around 1g with the other ratios of actives staying the same.

Unfortunately acetone is a very poor solvent for harmalas, as is regular iso/IPA...
You could use vodka if it's a high enough proof. I have no idea what constiutes a high enough proof though.
