i drink between 12 to 15 a day.
have been doing this for years.

i work very early morning , 3 am to 7 am.. i would have a coffee before work.. another when i arrive at work ,then one during break at 5 am , then another after work.. thats 4 just there before i even start my day.

on a weekend i will prob go through just 6 to 8 per day.

to be quite honest , i reckon if i went 24 hours with no coffee i would prob murder someone , it would just give me the shits and put me into a bad mood.

1-2 mugs a day - love it.

And here's more evidence it is an ally, not a foe:

Used to drink at least 6 to 8 cups a day, with a pot constantly brewing on the weekends for late night video game sessions. Now I get a psychosomatic crash when I'm halfway through a cup just because my body and mind are so used to the crash after those larger doses that they immediately prepare for it. Using it to keep awake just backfires now. Because of that I just drink a mug before bed now and then.

None, ever. The smell is really good, I must admit... But the once or twice when I tried a sip, it tasted too strong and 'persistent', like it leaves bad breath and stains the teeth.. I guess its an acquired taste, did you guys like it since the first time?

Plus I really dont like the idea that its physically addictive, I dont like being dependent on anything so I'd rather not go down that path.

Good coffee is not supposed to leave a very bitter or acidic taste. It has to have a subtle caramel-like taste and it's supposed to feel a bit creamy when you drink it.

There is some realy bad coffee on the market.

I rarely drink coffee myself, but when i do, it has to be the good stuff. Not the stuff from coffee-machines in halway's.

I drank a few sips of some organic black coffee about 2 weeks ago at the beach..I had not had any in a long time. I wanted to see how it would effect me. The taste instantyl made me want more becasue I used to love coffee. But the stimulation even from such a small ammount was beyond what I am used to with green tea..but later on my stomache felt like it was burning a bit from the acidity and my back hurt later on that night..so no coffee for me.

I am interested in raw, unraosted coffee though as some people say that the roasting process is what makes it so acidic and hard on the stomach for some people.

It is unlikely that a few sips of coffee contained more caffeine than a mug of green tea - perhaps the effect was psychosomatic?
Coffee is not very acidic - the stomach upset some experience is due to caffeine, not pH.
Raw coffee?! That is unpleasant and VERY caffeinated - the roasting inevitably destroys some of the stimulant (the darker the roast, the weaker the brew generally). Roasting produces a balance between caramelization and carbonization, as well as myriad other chemical conversions responsible for all that wonderful, subtle aroma and flavor.

A gonzo travelogue history of coffee, and the world! Highly recommended:

I use 1 teabag of greentea for a whole pot that will make like 6-7 cups or more..so a few sips of coffee for sure has more caffine than the 1 cup of tea I am used to in the morning.
Long live the unwoke.

I drink 2 double espressos a day weather I need it or not.... I love the smell and taste of strong coffee.

It is my only 'vice' other than occasional excess sugar. I don't smoke, I don't drink alcohol, I don't smoke pot, I don't do drugs except of course a little DMT once in a while and cactus.

The only coffee I drink at home is organic, and very rich in caffeine. Definitely an ally for me, I always feel empowered after a a couple cups of strong organic coffee.

I was a caffeine addict in my younger days, but that was due to an infatuation with energy drinks. Now, i switch between coca tea and green tea/yerba on a daily basis, so as not to grow a tolerance to caffeine or coca. And about once or twice a week, I'll here the calling of those full bodied beans calling me to grind and brew them..... moar coffee!

not to rain on your parade jacetea, im guessing your a fellow canadian, unless tim hortons has migrated to the US, which i believe they have somewhat..

Tims coffee is a load of crap, like ill drink it if its free deal, (well if its the only stuff available ill drink it too) its really cheap coffee, you can tell from the first sip its weak, poor quality coffee, although I do feel quite tweaked after I drink it. I suggest you find some REAL coffee
Yes, I'm in Canada. I think it's the cream that sells timmies coffee, plus they're everwhere which is convenient.

I once had some coffee that a french cheff prepared for a wedding; it was the best coffee I've ever had. It was smooth with a hint of vanilla.

I don't really care for strong coffee though, they buy this stuff at work and it tastes like liquid tar.

I know. One cup of strong coffee makes my head start spinning. But i find it a pleasant sort of stimulation, since it only lasts for half an hour or so.

I love the taste, I drink a cup or two here and there. If I want caffine stimmulation my drink of choice is Rock Star energy drink.

I really miss it..I feel like I got some of my best thinking done often after a cup of coffee and a few hits of cannabis..it was my morning routine for a long time..I would drink my coffee and then smoke at the bus stop and sit there thinking and thinking about everything on the way to work..

..maybe I need to stop looking at this thread..I keep wanting to go buy a bag of coffee beans..

I drink one or two small cups a day, black, brewed for 4.5 minutes around 206F with freshly ground beans in a french press. I am a huge fan of the Ethiopian Worka beans right now. They are so delicious and potent!

Good choice House. There is a local coffeshop that always uses different blends from around the world, and I really do like their Ethiopian roast.

However I must say, my favorite so far is definitely the Highlander Grog. High caffeine content, plus a hint/aftertaste of cinnamon.

CNBC just aired a special called "Coffee: Our addiction". Very interesting, all about how coffee goes from the farmer to the store...etc.

im so hot and cold...but mostly hot, i roast my own beans and once i have them its french press and esspresos 2-3 times a day...not as much as some people here....then i do that for a while until i run out then i ussually dont roast any for a while just to stop myself...its kindof better this way cause beans are best as freshly roasted as possible...if you buyem from the store its probaly at least a week old or more...if im around my fam its alot worse though cause they're all coffee drinkers two so then my uptake doubles and dont take breaks...so in conclusion i love to drink a strong brew with a little raw heavy cream, and a little dob of raw honey...on the flip side i see health poop from it: it strains the nervous system, and has really high phytic acid which is very bad for health hands down. these are just the for surely bad things..there are a few others that are more debatable
ive received the trans dermal download in the apousal lounge

no disease could possibly survive in such a wiggly environment!
