So I recieved a rather suspect e-mail on my hushmail account the other day (well, 2 actually, from the same person over the course of a week) it reads like this:

Greetings,

I am sorry to contact you through this medium without your consent or prior notice. I am Linda Morgan, am Female

American Military Medical Doctor Serving in Afghanistan presently , I am here to negotiate with you

on a possible transfer of $4.5 Million to you for safe -keeps and Investments. I will explain more details as soon as you reply me thanks.

I will be waiting.

Thanks

{Sgt Linda Morgan }

So, naturally I thought "what a brilliant opportunity to mess with this BLATANT fraudster!" I mean, honestly, who the hell e-mails an anonymous stranger with the proposition of putting £4.5 million in their account? Either a money launderer or scammer. My bet is that this person will ask me to deposit some money is a Western Union account or similar before transferring this 4.5 million - which of course will never happen.

So any way, I replied like this:

Hi Linda,

This sounds like an amazing opportunity for me! Please tell me
more! How can I possibly help you?

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you!

P

So, any ideas on how I can wind this idiot up? I will of course update this thread with any and all correspondence with this 'Linda'....

I always loved a story with a happy ending..... hahahahahahahahahaha.
Everything mentioned herein has been deemed by our staff of expert psychiatrists to be the delusional rantings of a madman who has been treated with Thorazine who is hospitalized within the confines of our locked facility. This patient sometimes requires the application of 6 point leather restraints and electrodes at the temples to break his delusions. Therefore, take everything mentioned above with a grain of salt...

Well, we certainly got a live one here! Check this out, Ha ha! I like how 'Linda' promises to 'furnish' me with more details! So now the question is, what identity should I make up for myself? Where should I be from? etc etc, it has to be believable(ish)

Dear P

I will like to thank you for your reply to my message. I am encouraged that you are willing to assist me and I am very grateful and thanks for your care.

I am Sgt Linda Morgan from the US , i am presently in Afghanistan . I acquired 4.5 million usd from the contract i did with united nations oil for food program here in Afghanistan , now my government is against all such contracts done by any military officer while serving in Afghanistan and is setting up a panel of investigation to confiscate funds resulting from all contract done by any military officer. I need to know you well and trust you to assist me in receiving this fund outside Afghanistan which is presently filled in a consignment in a security and finance company as family treasure.

All arrangement to bring out the consignment from Afghanistan has being concluded with a United Nations diplomat. All I want you to do is to receive the fund since I cannot receive it directly due to my status and duty. I am offering you 20% of the total sum for your assistance and the 75% will be transferred to my account which I will instruct you in my next email to you on how it will be transferred to my account. Then the remaining 5% will be for expenses encored during the transaction. Your own part of this deal is to find a safe place where the funds can be sent to.

I will furnish you with more details. But the whole process is simple and we must keep a low profile at all times.

However, before we go any further I would like to know more about you. In order for us to build a trusting business relationship I would like us to correspond a bit first. I would like to know what you do for a living. Are you married? Do you have any children? Anything else that you would like to tell me about yourself would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that in life building a trusting relationship is the most important thing. If we are able to build this kind of relationship then we will be able to do business together without any misunderstandings or miss dealings. In your next mail, please provide me with your full names, address, phone number. I will send you a copy of an agreement that will bind our business relationship together. I need these personal information to be able to entrust you with the responsibility of representing my interest . i will like to know your age also send me your direct contact number. I don’t don’t have accesses to telephone here but I will try all I can to talk with you any day the security is not all that tite on the camp, because all call are bee recorded and I never like any one to know anything about this transaction.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your understanding.

Regard,
Sgt Linda Morgan

So my name has to start with a 'P' - but besides that, lets make this as creative / ridiculous as possible!

Much love,

P x
