This thread is to show appreciation for the things that help us through life.

I appreciate my girlfriend for putting up with me and all of my extraction stuff all of the time.
I appreciate the Nexus for showing me all of this nifty extraction stuff.
I also appreciate exotic mustards on my sandwiches. Very happy

What are some of the things you appreciate?

The root concept of appreciation is simply to perceive and recognize. In keeping with this, I actually appreciate everything I observe. I honor all that I am aware of, and even the idea of those things I am not.

It sounds airy fairy, but it is true. Even things that piss me off or annoy the hell out of me are appreciated on some level... if only as a reminder of what I want to avoid in the future.

The Universe is a marvelous place. Everything in it is worthy of sincere appreciation. Every Hypernova, every gamma ray, every cricket song and every blade of grass...

Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." ~ Buddha

I do agree with this to an extent, yet I also believe there are many things I can appreciate more than another. Also certain things I hold of less value in appreciation.

A good example would be the criket songs lol

Due to certain circumstances I am currenlty living out of a garage, with uninsulated walls. So all night long I hear every criket song, can't say I appreciate it much at the moment. Then again, how would we appreciate such things, if there weren't the things that we depreciated as well.

In the light of Taoism, there would be no good without the bad.

Disclaimer:

All these thoughts,
words arranged in this message,
come from the Tao
and return to the Tao.
Yet they do not touch it.
Each of us will perceive the message,
Yet to each our own interpretation.

I'll see you when the river meets us

Hahaha... touché DMT Psychonaut.

I never meant to suggest that all things are appreciated equally (unless one is at the peak of a fabulous entheogenic wave)... Our likes and dislikes, prejudices and preconceived notions are a big part of who we think we are usually.

Still, even appreciating that you would rather not be appreciating cricket songs through uninsulated walls... is still a type of appreciation. (my sympathies on ur sitch, bro)

I understand, though, that the OP was shooting for a more "what you dig the most" flavor here. And in that light, I have to agree with your list. Bring on the Gewd!

I appreciate you guys sharing your appreciation! Very happy

I like where this is headed. It's true, a balance must be maintained as much as possible.

I appreciate my friends, for never giving up on me...my girlfriend, for always finding a way to make me feel useful(and other things of course).
I appreciate my own will, to overcome opiate addiction. Good music, movies, times and memories...may they never fade, and if they must may it best to make way for new ones.

And of course, the beautiful nexus, for being all that it is.

All of you.
If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.
