They often quote drugs as being ridiculously more expensive than they are, my foaf used to see the prices they throw out when he knew how much these things costed and think whaaaat?! I think dealers just sense that they're suckers because of their eagerness to buy, so massively overcharge them... then get busted so the joke's on them.

It's a high risk, high potency, scarcely available, connoisseur psychedelic. It's got more class and mystique than any other drug out there.

Also, yes there is no active surveillance trying to pinpoint DMT users and labs. Law enforcement is generally interested in meth labs and high-dollar/high-traffic drugs, which is one of the reasons they tend to bust dealers. The other reason is that dealers tend to be less personally discerning of their acquaintances than the casual user or the sincere hobbyists. They seek out a customer base from a demographic riddled with informants, potential informants, and narcs.

Come on, you think the DEA is indifferent to DIY DMTers? If they knew about someone's personal lab, they'd be on it like stink on shit. They don't give a fuck what moral values someone who makes illegal drugs has; they're all criminals in their eyes. Take it for someone who HAS been busted with DMT, and narrowly missed a manufacturing charge. The only reason this doesn't happen as often is that private (vs. commercial) "labs" tend to be much less low-key, and because busting commercial operations take precedence over small-scale ops. But this doesn't mean that you're in the clear automatically! They WILL bust small scale ops if they know about them!

Absolutely. They are a terrorist organization. They also brought about very tight laws against MDMA claiming they were based on lab experiments but it turned out that the lab experiments actually used methamphetamine.
DMT has long been one of the most illegal drugs but never spoken of. The people in power don't want to create too much sensation about it because they don't want people to know of it. The more you speak of it the more word gets around. Thats why I think they will not ban the plants because people will ask why these plants are being banned. The answer would be that they contain an entheogen. Then people would look into DMT which is exactly what the powers that be dont want.
