So I know I'm not allowed to post in the suggestion section, but I hope I'm still allowed to make a suggestion? If not, I'm very sorry but I was just wondering if those who manage and own the nexus would think it might be more aestetichally appealing to fix the width of the forum to the with of the banner, and center both of them? It was just a thought though, I'm not trying to tell anyone how to run their own website or anything.. so I hope it doesn't get taken the wrong way.

I zoom the site in on my browser and that seems to fix any placement issues.

Hold down CTRL and hit + if you're on a PC. I assume it's Command and + if you're on a mac.

I hope this helps. Smile

You can post anywhere in the forum that you feel like.

But as MelCat said, just zoom the screen till it fits to your likingSmile

That's not really what I meant.

matukuul,

We have a brilliant web designer/programmer running the site. I thank The Traveler for being one of the few people to value function over form. The banner/table width as it stands works great across all my devices - mobile or desktop on any platform in any browser.

Besides, many of us are emotionally attached to the current theme.

Bringing the main content area to 963px (the width of the top image) would only make browsing the forums harder for those with a higher resolution. There would be more text condensed into a smaller area. I personally prefer to see the top image on 3/4 of my screen (1366 x 768 screen res), rather than scrolling like a mad man through a single page to reach what I need to (most posts are pretty large as you may have noticed). It's a matter of preference I guess Smile

Another option would be for someone to provide a larger top image (like 2000px wide to cover most resolutions) and the mods approve it. I'm a programmer myself so I'm pretty terrible at designing stuff.

PS: matukuul, you can use something like this to personalize any website the way you like it Smile

I think what matukuul means is that the banner / control panel items are of an absolute size, whereas the rest of the forum diplays the full width of your screen regardless of zoom.

I agree with matukuul, and as an afterthought wouldn't it be nice to get a slightly better res banner? The current one looks kind of blurry, like it's made for a 56k connection Razz
I mean, I love the design but it'd be nice for something a bit more modern looking; though I understand if there is emotional attachment to it Smile

In the past the banner was in the center. After some pressure the banner was moved to the left. Smile

Also in the past there was a short time where both the banner and the table were centered and the same width. Again, after much pressure (well, not so much actually) it was made the way it is now.

It is possible to make a new theme that people can use, but due to time constraints I don't think that will happen any time soon.

Kind regards,

The Traveler
