Hello,

the q21q21's white DMT tek is recommending 5 percent vinegar for the mix... I have only 10% so should I dilute it to 50%/50%=water/vinegar to achieve 5% vinegar strenght?
I'm just wondering if 10% might not be ideal for the tek and might require more lime to achieve correct PH or correct mixture in general.
Any thoughts?

thanks

Whilst I have not used 10% vinegar, I can’t think of any reason not to use it. I suppose it may need more base to bring the pH up.

I guess the reason for asking 5% vinegar in the tek is that is the most commonly available strength.

Yeah I was wondering about the ph... 90 grams lime per 100g bark would be probably enough?

And on the other hand, wouldn't I achieve 5% vinegar by mixing 10% vinegar with water 50%/50%?

That will be the case. Not sure about the amount of lime needed to base 10% though.

Yeah and I don't have PH tester...

But I'll make the 50%/50% vinegar 10%/water mix and use it from now on. Just to do it as it's usually done.

However, I've had good results with 10% vinegar, but often with varying yield.
