Has anyone here experienced this? And how would you compare it to a bad trip?

I've had feverhallucinations three times in my life, and it is the most horrible experinces I've ever had. Nightmares usually doesn't bother me too much because you only have to wake up to stop them, but when you have this fever they continue when you're awake. And it is not your common nightmare were you are scared shitless. No, it is sheer terror all the way through.

Really strange horrible terror.

One time I laid in bed staring at a pen on the floor and I have never been so scared in my life. I was more scared of he pen on the floor than I have ever been of anything.

Another time I hallucinated that one of our sofas at home were full of wooden barrels. I was afraid of them aswell.

The first time this happened to me was horrible. I had no control over anything. I had a feeling in my stomach that there was sort on an invisible string going out from me and it was always either too thin or too thick. It was a horrible feeling. I also had a feeling that my inside was made of rusty cogwheels

The second time was equally horrible. Same thing with the string and the cogwheels happened. But I remember that I got some control over the string. I could make it thicker or thinner if I concentrated enough and found a balance were it felt good. About 15-20 cm thick. I got some control over cogwheels aswell. I remember that if I focused on things that were clean and stable, like a shining white pyramide with a bright blue sky, it felt better.

The third time was like the second but with a little more control.

On top of all this I had to run to the toilet to either puke or shit diarrea, once both at the same time. Just after puking I had a break from all the horrible things for about 10 min. Then hell broke loose again.

Anybody recognize this from their own fevers or bad trips? I have never had a bad trip.

I have had some horrific fever dreams/hallucinations. I had a really bad one when i was at the beach in Brazil a while ago where waves made of people kept crashing over me, which went on for ages. I totally know that fear that you speak of, as i used to freak out over a lamp and start screaming that i could hear it breaking. I've had army men crawling up my bed sheet trying to kill me, grandma's screaming in my ear... really crazy stuff.

Comparing it to a bad trip is hard, as i have never had a REALLY bad trip before. From what i have experienced i'd say a bad trip is most likely worse, as you can all ways do things to bring a fever down, where stopping a heavy bad trip is most likely a lot more difficult.

I have had some terrifying fever hallucinations when I was young... I don't remember much detail about the hallucinations but I do remember puking and shitting at the same time lol.
I know they were more terrifying than any of my few bad trips to date...
I can recall dark figures looming over me and at some point I remember throwing our family van off a cliff with my brother and sister inside. That one made me cry for my Mom... scary stuff indeed.

This, what I'm experiencing now, is a whole new level of my being.

When I was a kid I had strong fever and this dream/vision that everyone was freaking out because they were going to die, and I even went to wake up my mother to tell her that the world is ending. That was a freaky one... And I'm glad the only fever hallucination I had.

A friend of me had cought some malaria in indonesia. It almost killed him. When he was having extreme fever, he was hearing voices that told him to give in to the malaria and that it would eventually take him to a better place....That story always kind of gives me the creeps.

I remember once thinking that there was something I had to do. Something very important. If I didn't do it, myself, and everyone I knew, would surely be dead. Upon realizing that my task was utterly impossible, for the first time in my life, at just a hand full years old, I experienced the sensation of knowing what it is like to know you are dying. Not only that, but I somehow subsequently caused the death of all my loved ones. I had very little time left. I wanted to say my goodbyes and apologies but was alone in this odd white / gray void. It was an incredibly intense and emotional experience.

That's intense. How did the thought of "something you had to do" arise?

It was just a hallucination that only made sense at the time. There was the feeling, the knowledge, of a task that determined everything, even if I wasn't aware of what the task actually was. All I knew was that it was impossible and that everything was over!

ive had a few boughts of fever hallucinations,
one as a kid that lasted seemingly forever

one a few years ago while involved with some serious spice (the experience i had was simmiliar to those experiencing the spice in the same house)

and one last night....

they arent pleasant but they are powerful, i found my experience a few years ago to be based upon internal alignment and the consequent trajectory of cosmic proportions regarding the path im on.... totally indescribable other than that brief excerpt, many visions, entities, and crystaline structures...

Does anyone know what it is that happens in the brain when you're getting these fever hallucinations? Is the heat overloading different receptors in the brain or releasing chemicals or something like that?

My fever dreams remind me of caapi visions. Lots of being shot with lasers. I've always been fascinated with how strange, hilarious, and vivid they are. Smile
