First of all, I just want to throw a huge thanks to everyone on the Nexus. Not to be cliche, but you guys "get me". So a very big and hearty thank you to everyone on here!

With that said, I live in a fairly small town in the midwest. So far, I haven't found ANYBODY who else who enjoys the use of entheogens. It seems that the surrounding community is divided into 3 parts as far as "drugs" are concerned: Those who are COMPLETELY and IGNORANTLY against them, those who only use alcohol/tobacco/cannabis socially, and the group who use cannabis/lsd/shrooms/molly, but only to party or have fun. It seems that there is just no one around, male of female, who shares the same view as I do, and especially since all my old friends have moved away (understood my views, but didn't necessarily share them), I am feeling a little alienated.

So my question is, do you have a psychedelic/entheogenic community of friends where you live? If so, how did you go about finding them? (It is such a touchy subject in this oppressive society) Tripping alone can definitely be introspective and learning, but sometimes it is nice to know that someone is around who you can tell your experience to.

Let the plants guide you, for they teach lessons beyond what we humans can offer.
Distorted is our perception of reality, because reality is much more distorted than we could ever perceive it to be.

no. The only way is to get to know more people and learn their interests. Ms. Manic Minxx once suggested asking indirect questions that insiders might know. Such as, "I think mushrooms come from outer space, what do you think?" Also, you might be surprised by the group of party'ers you describe. They may be open to whatever it is you're looking for.

I literally pulled the mushroom from space card tonight for the exact reason you outline above. That's pretty funny Laughing

What other kinds of questions would you suggest asking?

I dunno...just talk about it...there are an infinite number of lead-in's to things like ayahuasca's upregulation of serotonin receptors, iboga's resetting of opioid receptors, mushrooms/lsd for cluster headaches. Health/medicine is something that many people find fascinating, ime, you would be surprised at the number of "straight" people willing to talk about a substance like iboga if presented in the context of medical applications. For some people, that's where the discussion will end, for others, they may wish to engage further on the topic and into the more esoteric regions of the psychoactive effects and implications for the human experience.

I just got some of my close friends into it Razz .Its popular in new age circles as well I've met lots of cool ppl through facebook , some that live in my city whom I've met and tripped with. I have a very open attitude towards what I do although some people here may think its unwise Its gotten me lots of cool friends that are into psychedelics.

It would be cool if there was a way to know what nexians are in your city or town if any and start a dialogue with them. too bad no one uses the location feature and you cant search it.

well if you cant find the right people that have a passion for power plants why not share your knowledge and passion and make the company you wish to keep.
often times people who dabble just arent aware of the sacred side of things. i know i didnt when i was younger. i just use to eat some shrooms and laugh my brains out for a couple hours and thats all i thought they were about. eventually i was shown the depth and knowledge these substances have to offer.

see who raises an eye brow when you talk about your experiences. chances are you could have some good tripping partners right under your noes plus you will help them add depth and meaning to their lives. its a win win for everyone.
I am not gonna lie, shits gonna get weird!
