you can get 10 screens in there easily but with the copper chorboy wad like gibrans pic shows you dont need near that many. i use 6 but i think gibran stated he uses one.

here is a pic of my awesome set up in the hard case. its the bomb. even has a smell proof zipper pouch. i store extra screens and another copper mesh wad in there.

I think you have just convinced me to buy one of those hard cases! I especially like the baggy of things located on the right side of the case. Deffinetly prepared for a journey there. In other discussion, I too use only one screen with a choreboy pad on top however, my torch lighter really sucks and goes out when you tip it up. For the time being untill I get a good torch, I have been and will continue to use my bic lighter with out the charcoal filter piece in the top of my gvg. I simply hold the lighter just close enough to have the flame go into the gvg neck about an eighth of an inch in. 1,2,3 blast off every time.. Sometimes in only 1 or 2..

I totally agree, being a wandering traveler I also prefer my goods to stay well protected.
The only problem about it is its dimensions. Sometimes it hardly fits my backpack! Also it's not very portable, although the handle and ring I never found a way to carry it while on my bike: I always need a backpack..
Definitely a good choice, anyway!

Why does it have to be a torch? isn't the whole idea behind vaporizing DMT is that it is a cooler temperature that activates the DMT and that High temps will "break" the DMT molecule? Then wouldn't a SUPER HIGH TEMP torch lighter be counter productive?

Torch lighter is essential. It's much easier to use as the flame is stable and gives higher temperature. That way you heat the dose quicker but with the same temperature inside the pipe. That is done by keeping the flame at proper distance, too close and it will get too hot, but that's obvious.

You can see the vapor thickness coming at you in the GVG, so you can kindof be prepared for what's about to happen to you, kindof...

I wrote this in the GVG thread and I tought to share it here too:

GVG has many benefits:

-Long tube to cool the vapor and it doesn't get to your lungs right away so you have longer time to "fill and inhale the pipe"
-Easy to clean(acetone)
-Seeing the vapor coming and ending, knowing when the full dose have been inhaled(IMPORTANT)
-The pipe feels and looks perfect for such important matter as hyperspace travelling.
-Ceramic filter is removed by pulling, not screwing it in like VG
-You can see how the tube looks inside(DMT condensation), and if it's time to clean it
-The bowl isn't so close to your eyes as VG, this makes more comfortable looking at the bowl while it's being lighted with torch lighter.
-You can see the ceramic filter glowing red
-Easy inhalation of full dose in one hit

So if you are serious about exploring the D, IMO this pipe is absolutely essential!

Excellent summary tele! That should be added to the first post, which does some demonstrating, but lacks some explaining. The GVG with an arc or similar torch is perfect. The axe case is perfect too, just wish mine had shrooms like olympus's. The whole setup is very much worth the cost. I generally vape on herbs, I've been very happy with that, but I need to give the copper disk a try.

I think that was my lasttime using a glass pipe...i used a passionflower mix as a MAO, but i fear i lose to much...i used about 2 points to get myself in position.

I think the Black Acacia has run it's course as well...i will try and "source" a much more effective strain for the next mission....although i dont think thats a problem, i feel a stronger variety will allow me to achieve greater connections...beyond that...im not sure...i think aya, unless im going the full uninhibited course, will lack the immediacy of a straight connection...where i go, it's potency is irrelevent, i dont think too much will be too much.

Definately try it= Copper mesh, less vapor. Because you'll get "side vapor" from the herbs. If it's not locally available, look at ebay.com

The vaporgenie website says not to use Torch lighters with the glass vaporgenie. But apparently almost everyone does. What's up with that?

Torch lighters, when turned up very high, can get hot enough to crack the glass of the top piece of the GVG. This only happens if the flame is pointed directly at the glass.

what is that you call "screen"? do this screens come with the GVG?

it comes with 3 screens but you can and should order a 10 pack from vapor geanie. also i HIGHLY recommend the hard shell case for an extra 20 bucks. its sweet and holds everything you need in a custom fit soft inside. trust me everyone of my friends who see's mine kicks themselves for not forking out the extra 20 bucks.

Hey, quick question for you.

I am looking at getting a glass sherlock vaporgenie, but I am a total noob when it comes to smoking. I have never smoked anything ever.

I noticed most people like to put mullein or peppermint leaves on the screens first before they add the spice. Just wondering where to get these from? Can you go to any cigar shop and by them?

Also, I read people saying to "heat the ceramic filter", does this mean you are putting the flame somewhere other than the opening of the pipe?

SWIM extracted some spice for the first time and is trying to figure out how to use it.

Thanks.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I know nothing about using pipes or smoking in general.

So the flame is never pointed at the glass? I'm guessing it is put over the opening and when you inhale the heat from the flame goes into the pipe?????

That's correct. Point the flame straight down into the bowl.

The best way is to form a thin disc out of copper ribbon (ChoreBoy scrubber). Search this thread and you'll see my photos of how it should look. The DMT gets melted into the disc, and the disc goes into the bowl.

So you basically put the spice into the copper disc outside of the vaporgenie and apply flame to it in order to melt it into the copper? Then you add that to the bowl and vaporize it?

That’s how I do it, but I used to keep the disc in the GVG, heat it slightly, then pour the DMT onto it. Sometimes the DMT would spill onto the glass sidewalls. To avoid that, I now load the disc outside of the GVG. Less convenient, but less chance of spillage.

At the moment I’m using a small cone made out of light card and a little tape to get my spice to sit straight in the centre of my disc.

Ok, SWIM just checked his freezer and there are white crystals in the jar, so he has some spice. He is gonna order the Sherlock and just try to figure it out.

after reading this full thread, i am convinced of getting a gvg.

i would like to get the glass bat vg instead of the sherlock gvg, but i was first wondering if anyone here has experience with the bat, and if there are any disadvantages to the bat over the sherlock.

i saw a post ask if anyone has used a bat but then i saw no replies to that post.

thanks for your time.
my name, is nobody.
