tonym wrote:PS. I've been trying to resist saying this but this forum seem to be very self-righteous. For a forum that prides itself on it's supposed spirituality this seems more like a DMT religion!
I never did like religion much.
What kind of attitude do you think that I have been displaying so far?
Fair enough... you feel that there is a shade of elitism or even a hint of cultish dogmatism? Believe me friend, while it may seem so from a certain perspective, this is wholly untrue. It is out of the utmost compassion that these fine people have been so explicit with their emphasis about the use of vaporized DMT or Ayahuasca.
And yes, on the surface of things, it may look as this is a religious attitude. I personally DO have religious experiences while embracing the Spirit Molecule but I don't feel it is accurate to label it as the traditional idea of a
religious experience. It is a self-shattering voyage and a profound lesson about one's own self. It is an avenue for perceiving the Clear Light of the Void... directly. The likes which, no other Sacred Medicine can teach in quite the same explosive way! So powerful, it is dangerous to use as a "drug". So please pardon our extreme caution, as it is meant out an honest devotion to Spice and caring about it's proper usage.
Honesty is pretty much what you'll get from this family. and we all have our own views about this subject. The Nexus is definitely not a religion!!! There is really no consensus or rule about the experience, as it is wholly subjective... but there is a need to tune our intentions, as with the use of all true psychedelics, if you want to get positive results from the immersion. They are all mind-blowing but Spice is most unique.
I suggest, as money is an issue for you, that you take up the practice of daily sitting meditation and/or a moving meditation like Hatha yoga or Tai Chi Chuan. You can easily learn much online for free. Or take the time to get into some therapeutic form dancing (or perhaps whirling?), trance music or hiking/trail running, etc...
Why so??? Because I feel you are looking for a substitute for the habitual usage of marijuana. A regular buzz (and who could blame you). True enough? I use Ganja sparingly, as an entheogen but it can be quite addictive to the mind of a person. So, you can get an alternate
buzz routine going for no money at all. This will go a long way towards altering your perception of "reality" and your brain wave patterning.
More than anything else, I feel that the other kind members have offered advice for you own good. If it seems preachy... to bad. At the very heart of this Spirit Molecule is the transcendental immersion it gifts. For thousands of years it has been embraced through deepest respect and with reverential treatment. It is not a party drug. No entheogens are party favors. That's why we have booze and herb, eh?
Perhaps you could grow Salvia Divinorum and smoke the plain leaf for a lighter buzz? Or smoke Amanita Muscaria in a bowl? I also agree, amanitas can be quite enlightening to partake of. For myself, they are not just deliriants. Both of these are completely legal in my area (for the time being).
You asked for something which you do not have experience with, yes??? Some truth and honest information, a helping hand? OK then, we are all on the same page about this. You must accept the packaging it come wrapped in or look elsewhere for guidance. Insulting your fellows will offer little fruit.
The guys are trying to say this,
tonym, approach this substance with a practical and reverential attitude. As
joedirt and the other folks have tried to emphasize, DMT is not like any other substance. Why not accept the seemingly dogmatic tenants about it's ritual usage? BTW, there are probably more agnostics and atheists on this forum than "religious" types. That being said, there are many "spiritual" people living in this neighborhood, as well.
We share two bonds, as a community. First, we all
respect the power of the Spirit Molecule, regardless of our personal spiritual beliefs (or the lack of said beliefs). Second, we all approach the experience very
seriously with quite a bit of thoughtful intention. I'd add that while we each seek different forms or aspects of
knowledge of self and search for unique realities within our voyages in hyperspace... we all experience ego death and self shattering when we reach breakthrough levels of awareness. This is no simple buzz we catch, it is paramount to a profound rebirth.
Just sayin' buddy. You are welcome to speak your mind freely. Honesty is an admirable quality. Just be gracious about the advice you receive in reply, like it or not. That's sometimes what dialog is all about. I suspect everyone will be most forgiving of any challenging "attitude" you expressed? I personally think you are most sincere, so I'm good. But please show some respect to those who have had the
direct experience, which you have not had, just yet. It is unwise to irritate the very ones who hold the information you so earnestly requested.
One last thought... if money is an issue for your ability to start your own teks, save some up. If it takes 6 months or even a year, so be it. You can find wild mushrooms almost anywhere, so that's another avenue. Again, use the utmost caution with wild mushrooms. Know exactly what you are picking and how much to ingest. Sacred Medicines are not our diets nor our habitual herbs. They are entheogens and most psychedelic in nature.
Caution and reverence are not simply religious or dogmatic concepts, they are quite practical and sane ways to progress towards the soul-shaking experience of contacting NN-DMT. Truly, the warning is really given out of concern for your well-being and the need to express the honor we each feel this special molecule deserves, through the impressions we experience under it's profound spell.
