See what happens when they don't get enough light.

This guy had to be kept on a porch last year and got skinny. This year he got the fat head!!! and threw a pup.

I think this is just a mutt P. Torch. Would love an ID if anyone can tell.

West Coast Crafts pedro was pretty good. I decided to put 2 of the cuttings in the ground log style.

They seem to be rooting pretty well too.

3 trichocereus cuzcoensis pups.

Cutting this guy down was such a waste ( bought it as kk242 ). Ive read it makes for good grafting stock...so at least there are the pups. And a tip. sigh, It was soo big and pretty. I bet it would have flowered soon Sad

Just wondering if the first photo (hybrid) is the same cacti in your avatar picture?
If so, how long ago was your avatar photo taken?

Beautiful friends you have there! Very happy

Thank you !

That is the same cactus from my avatar. I think I took the other pic a couple months ago. He had a major growth spurt. Other things have stalled out a bit. I mixed in some compost shortly after I took this batch of pictures.

Madcap you have mad cactus cultivation skills. I love the fotos. I have a tall slender San Pedro that has been indoors it's entire life. Its about 4' tall.
Can I just cut pieces off and plant them on their side like you did?
Thanks for sharing?

You can put them on their side, or stick them straight up in the ground.

After you cut them, allow them to scab up for a couple weeks or more before you put then in soil. No water for a while. Until roots start o form. Could tak a couple months.

Thanks or the compliment. I will put up more pics of the other guys soon.

So how should they be stored while they are scabbing over?

In light, in dark, warm, cool, humid, dry?

In a cardboard box ar a bag?

Does it matter what I cut it with?
