moral of this story is invest in one of the good torch lighters recommended in the smoking thread. the fact they dont go out is invaluable!!! im telling you nothing is more frustrating than lighters going out when your trying to get it all in one hit. it can start the trip on a sour note too.

hope that helps. you have received lots of good info here to make good decisions.
enjoy

Indeed I have my friend, great info. And the lighter is a classic example. I have been looking at cheap little torch lighters all day an would have made the same mistake you did undoubtedly, and I hate wasting spice but thanks to you comments I will pick wisely. My friend swim takes great care in making fine spice, the least I could do is smoke it the best way known. Greatly appreciate, keep up the good work buddy.

@ olympus mon - How thick is that copper mesh? It looks like it's about 4 or 5 times as thick as it needs to be. With the mesh disc, less is more: you want it only as thick as is necessary to hold a dose of DMT. The thicker it is, the more thermal mass you have, and the longer it takes to vaporize a dose.

(Nice set-up. Is that an arc lighter?)

good to know, i guess its a bit taller than your pic but i think its also less compacted maybe a bit fluffier. do you feel a tighter wad would be better? ill pull it out tonight when i get home and take a pic of the mesh. i didnt think it was that big maybe the glass is making it look taller but ill check. thx.

I flatten mine, and you can still see light through it. I wouldn’t call it compacted or tight, but it’s definitely not loose and “fluffy”. I’d say I make my discs about 1/8” thick or less.

Might as well post my photo once again:

I use medium weight stainless steel wool to form a metal disc for the GVG and its no thicker than the one you see in the post aboves' picture by Gibran2;IME this is much less porous than the copper one depicted above and works perfectly without allowing any dripping whatsoever.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

I just got around to reading this - what an excellent report vent01!! And as ragabr said, great inclusion of images!! I bet that second trip caught you by surprise after the first one...Wink Let us know of any trips in the future, they'll be a pleasure to read about I'm sure - and yeah, use that GVG! Until you do, you won't see why no one here is understating its efficiency/beauty/simplicity/design!

And @ Oly Mon - you post your kit here but not in my KIT THREAD!!?? Crying or very sad Crying or very sad Crying or very sad

Very happy

Nice kit though - looks a lot like mine. Is that a bag of cubies under that velcro?

cheers,

JBArk

@Vent01: Awesome report, I love how you illustrated with the artwork!

Thank you very much ragabr! I really enjoy writing. Hands down attempting to write transcendental experiences is the hardest thing I've ever tackled in writing. I really appreciate you taking time to read and enjoying the art I love so much.

Hello all Smile

I would like to comment at the beautiful report of our dear Vent01: it’s absolutely fantastic!

You have covered the visual aspect very well and it’s needless to say I can relate to a lot of stuff in your journey report. Just to name a few things that particularly resonated with me: 3d cubes, a lady guide and you knowing of the infinity now Smile

Well done and keep up the good work Wink Great illustrations too Very happy

Namaste.

Astralex, I am so excited that I was able to articulate enough information that others can relate to it. It really makes me happy to see that. I am not alone in these experiences. Thank you again for reading! Smile

Thank you jbark! Yeah, haha. That second trip was beyond anything I was thinking in comparison to the first trip. I will gladly share my future experiences here on the Nexus after such wonderful feedback. It gives me motivation to share and articulate to my fullest ability. I will be using my GVG for the next trip. Little nervous though to explode and give myself up to the universe. Hehe.

I like to keep the discs somewhat porous so that hot air will pass through it, rather than around it. If the disc is too dense, then most of the air will flow around it, and vaporization will be slower.

^^There is a middle ground where the air still can pass through the disc rather than around it.Wink
