Dear Nexians, as a student and DMT user I feel like sharing my "white magic" with the welcomed guests in my house. If they seem interested, I also like to share with them the most information I can, starting from the wikipedia article on DMT and ending up describing the extraction process. I did a lot of study here to be as knowledgeable as I could. I absolutely ask nothing in change although sometimes I've been asked to accept gifts, I just refused them, as I believe this sharing to be like an act of love and welcome. Having a GVG sometimes makes the things difficult, as it is not very easy to use and newbies may have problems inhaling, so I try to train them inhaling while the pipe is not loaded and I help them holding the lighter. In this way I have a good chance to succeed in giving an active dose. Often the guests welcomed for an evening are more then one and the contest tends to party, so I spend a special effort in instructing people to behave the correct way while one is traveling. This means silence, no laugh or preoccupations, no "bad vibrations". Luckily my terrace is a very good setting, staying just over a river and being surrounded by trees (which is very rare in a city!). I also have 2 flatmates that know about my "experiments" and help me and guests to reach the correct atmosphere. So, as I had good experiences in sharing so long, I'm going to go on with this tradition, but I'd also like to collect suggestions and observations from who surely have more experience than me about. Thanks for Your attention. -- forth and deep

For about half a year now, I haven't let people operate the lighter no matter how many times they've done it or whatnot. I used to give explicit instructions on how to use the lighter with the GVG, and virtually no one can seem to do it right and the result is that it just fucks up the ceramic filter and makes my life much harder. Not only that but they fail to even have a good experience as a result and to me, it's simply wasting my DMT. So now, they just hold the GVG and I light it for them. Keeps my GVG in working order, and it's one less thing for the inhalers to worry about and it doesn't waste DMT (as often). Usually I can gauge when they've taken a big enough hit, but I have them gesture with their free hand if it's big enough and they want me to stop. I will share as much DMT as people would like to smoke when they come over, but I never give it away so they can take it with them. I can empathize with the desire to do it alone in one's own house when that time is just right, but by the same token none of these people have GVGs and will most likely not even get a good experience out of it, and burn and waste most of the DMT, and also it makes it much safer for me (won't have someone getting pulled over and searched and then questioned about where they got it from or something like that). But so long as you wanna do it with me, I'm more than happy to share so long as they keep on saying "moar" (though in 2 rare occasions I did have to cut people off ![Laughing](/forum/images/emoticons/laughing.png) ). ^ i third that motion Even with the classic VG, used by seasoned ganja smokers, it still takes people a while before they get the technique down.. And don't forget to remind them to smile after taking it all in! It can truly make a difference

If I were to begin sharing dmt with friends, I would make sure to smudge the entire area with sage, or something of the sort. It helps to have a few plant allies nearby, just in case. Dmt seems to raise vibrations quite a bit, sometimes shaking unexpected energies from the source, hence the usual claim of "feeling cleansed of toxins" after an introductory experience with dmt. I would advise not to journey yourself for 2-3 days afterwards, allowing these energies to settle back into the environment, becoming balanced once again, and free to move on. Sounds nuts, but it has always been a main theme with my introducing others to the wonder that is this substance. Good luck, I've got some introducing on my schedule as well, let's anchor some more Love and Light! "The search for Truth is the Greatest, if not, most Sensible form of Rebellion."

In terms of smoking apparatus, I would say that the Hot Box works wonderfully, and may be easier to share with friends who would have trouble with the GVG. It's a bit more expensive than the GVG (ouch), but if you or a friend already has one for marijuana, $20 gets you a dedicated whip and you're good to go.

Could be just easier to light it up for the friends... And nothing beats GVG as DMT delivery "device". VG or GVG is also great for weed(although I don't use it for that)

I have shared hoasca with a few friends, my wife, and my father. Sharing it with my friends has always seemed to leave a bad taste in my mouth, and has only served to discourage me. I guess it's a feelIng of "why don't they respect this as the magic that it is?" and I feel like I shouldn't do so again unless they come to me first... However; sharing with my wife finally was wonderful to watch, to see the blissful tired smile work it's way into her lips and seeing how she sought out quiet darkness was edifying for me. Also, my father took it well and he is one of the only people that I can have a meaningful rapport about psychedelics with... ุจุณู

I haven't used the GVG, so I can't provide a comparison, but there is theoretically no reason why the GVG would outperform the Hot Box.
The Hot Box also provides the following advantages over the GVG (from another post):
The Hot Box costs more than the GVG ($150 vs $100), but folks who already have one can certainly use it for dmt. It also offers a several advantages to the VG: - the HB uses a fitted, heated glass element instead of a torch, resulting in more control over the application of heat - the dose is held horizontally, rather than vertically, possibly leading to less 'dribbling' of liquid dmt away from the heating source and being wasted - the handheld whip, which holds the dmt, is easily dismantled and cleaned - Each whip costs $20-- so multiples can be owned (one for marijuana, one for dmt, etc) - the HB seems a bit less fragile. Even if the whip is broken, it can be inexpensively replaced - on the aesthetic front, there are numerous customization options for the HB (for a price, of course)

I know what you mean. It can be frustrating when people don't take it seriously. But then again, that's part of the reason I continue to share it. This is exactly why I have yet to share the beloved Spice with anyone besides my best friend, and 2 other close friends. My other friends know I do it regularly; I even have the molecule tattooed on my arm. People know. I tell them of my experiences and how I've integrated the Spice into my meditations and rituals. I think all that just scares them away. In my opinion, if someone doesn't come to me asking to partake, then they won't full understand it's magic. There has to be some sort of willingness on both parties. I've opened the doors to several of my other friends, example "yea maybe this friday we can have a spice session if you're interested..." type thing, yet no one ever follows through. I think it's more fun for some people to live out the imagination of what it's like, rather then to fully commit to. And I don't want to chase people down to try it either. Also be very careful! Some people see the Spice as a checklist type item. I introduced one friend to it and he said to me, "well I can cross that off my list now and tell people I've done it at least..." It put a bad taste in my mouth to be honest. Peace,Love,Light~ Nothing lasts...nothing lasts...everything is changing into something else...nothing is wrong...nothing is wrong...everything is on the right track

Well on a handful of occasions I have had people approach me to do it that still weren't gonna take it seriously. It's just another drug to them. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

Sorry, but few of these are even possible advantages. Nitegazer wrote: The Hot Box costs more than the GVG ($150 vs $100), but folks who already have one can certainly use it for dmt. It also offers a several advantages to the VG: - the HB uses a fitted, heated glass element instead of a torch, resulting in more control over the application of heat
You really have to use the GVG with a torch to understand how incredibly precise control you have over the heat. Way, way more than adjusting an electrical setting. Nitegazer wrote: - the dose is held horizontally, rather than vertically, possibly leading to less 'dribbling' of liquid dmt away from the heating source and being wasted
There is no dribbling with the GVG and a copper pad. The only spice to be cleaned out of the GVG comes from condensation along its body. It seems to me much more likely that spice would run horizontally into the vaporizer base, having seen it happen with a Da Buddha electric vaporizer that had too much spice packed into it. Nitegazer wrote:- the handheld whip, which holds the dmt, is easily dismantled and cleaned No dismantling required to run the solvent through the GVG. Also, you can use any solvent you want instead of having to worry about the tubing of the whip. Nitegazer wrote:- Each whip costs $20-- so multiples can be owned (one for marijuana, one for dmt, etc) Maybe. If you want a separate one. Also, SWIM vastly prefers the GVG for vaporizing marijuana, compared to the electrical vaporizers she has used. Nitegazer wrote:- the HB seems a bit less fragile. Even if the whip is broken, it can be inexpensively replaced Not really an issue. The part of the GVG most likely to break is just as cheaply replaced. Nitegazer wrote:- on the aesthetic front, there are numerous customization options for the HB (for a price, of course) Same with the GVG, except for they're actually custom, as you can do it up however you like. Thanks for the feedback ragbar. The GVG has righfully earned its reputation as the leading vaporizer on this board. I will hold, however, that the GVG is not the end-all of vaporizers for dmt, and folks should feel free to experiment-- especially if they already have another vaporizer in the house.
I know the torch can be mastered as a heating device, but it does have a bit of a learning curve, and I like not having to contend with a second device that is an open flame. Especially if sharing with new folks, the Hot Box may be easier to use.
You have me at a dissadvantage, since I have not vaped with the GVG, so I won't quibble over each of your points. I do hope, however, that folks recognize that the performance of the GVG can be shared by other devices.

Perhaps. I would note that members here have tried the gammit of vaporizers and devices. It's not like everyone just decided the GVG was the way to go. It does happen to be the best thing I've tried though, and I have no reason to look back. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein
