What will follow is just a few poems from the past two years or so. Hope you enjoy. I'll continue adding more poems probably...

Every tear that hit the floor
was another memory
let go

Let go
as if
this is all that was needed
years of the heavy heart
burdened away
deep in the confines
of his chest
hiding behind tissue
muscle
and bone
were finally erased
like an artist erasing
what he sees as flaws
in an otherwise perfect portrait
We are...
We are like that sentence.
We are not finished.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

It's dark
the match drops
in a wave of blue
fire sweeps the room
it is followed
by a flash
as orange overtakes blue
form fitting
warmth hugs me
the glow
reflects in your eyes
we will be nothing but ashes by morning
let us spend our last night
in an illusion of security
We are...
We are like that sentence.
We are not finished.

He is left
standing
silent

She walks
numb
silent

The silence is overbearing
soon it will be over
both returning
to the laughter
the joy of life

but for now
the silence couldn't be any louder
We are...
We are like that sentence.
We are not finished.

I chased lines in your eyes
and traced your face with my mind
counted memories like pages
watched them gather like dust
turn like the wind
and change like the seasons

Time passed on
and the lines dug to creases
pulling your skin soft
and creating a new landscape
creased and creviced
faded from opaque

Rose of your cheeks faded to grey
sky of your eyes now glossed
like the winter sea
eyelashes once fanned out
like the leaves of spring
now broken and dead
thrown to our feet

still beautiful
always beautiful

I chased you for
days, months, years
I promised you love
came through with my word
consistent but not always present

Fell backstage
until you needed me to play the lead
I was everything you asked me to be

Try
Just try to chase the lines.
We are...
We are like that sentence.
We are not finished.

I saw your breath
creating ripples in the Universe
I watched our souls
spiral down
into the void
where no stars existed
just so that we could fill it with our warmth
I watched
as our energies intertwined
to become one
a brilliance spewing forth a galaxy of its own
with our love at the center

The stars were our children
forever dancing in the light of our glory

Time is a concept
singular to the mortal mind
as long as our love stays pure
we will live for eternity
We are...
We are like that sentence.
We are not finished.

Some of those are filled with beauty man, really. I like this one, it is quick and resounding to my heart.

Quote:

He is left
standing
silent

She walks
numb
silent

The silence is overbearing
soon it will be over
both returning
to the laughter
the joy of life

but for now
the silence couldn't be any louder
My ego is insane, but I'm alright

The path of excess leads to the palace of wisdom. -William Blake

Lavos is a fictional character, a dream inside a dream. Don't take what he says to be true or representational of reality in any known form. He is inspired by pure fantasy.

I appreciate the kind words. I'm glad you guys enjoyed reading them. I don't share my writing with anyone so these posts have been kind of an experiment.

I'm going to add a few more. Maybe I'll start another thread for the other themes of my writing soon, but for now I'll stick to broken love. They are the easiest thoughts for me to let go.
We are...

You leaving, left me nothing but embers
I tried to rekindle
I tried for months
I
tried
for
months
The fire had ceased
ceased to exist
leaving behind it's scorched remains
a testament to its magnificence

We both tended that fire
We gave it its sustaining breath

In a moment of uncertainty
I tipped the bucket
The falling water cascaded down
washing away
what was left of my smoldering love
smoke rose as a storm
overtaking everything in darkness

Love's raging fire
had once again
left my heart
a pit
of blackened ashes
We are...
We are like that sentence.
We are not finished.

It's been
one year
one year to the day
since I caressed your face
held you in my arms
kissed your mouth
felt your heart
saw your tears
to wipe them away
and unravel a smile
from your quivering lips

You wanted to speak
I said try
My intentions betrayed by a boyish grin
I brushed that spot
right below your collar bone
The place I found much to your surprise
What you said was inaudible
hidden by the rush of air
past your lips

I gently looked up
Your eyes got lost in mine
I stopped
grasped your hand
wrapped you up in me
We let the silence speak for itself
Let time stand still
The darkness swallowed us
A whisper
A whisper that started the clock
That was all it took
"always you are mine"

Did you mean it?
Will you please tell me you meant it?

I heard those words
A year later
No less naive
I still believe in always
We are...
We are like that sentence.
We are not finished.
