So I was hiking through my grandmothers land in IL and I came across this laying with rocks. It appears to me to be a hammer of sorts its about 5 inches long total, it fits in your hand perfectly. The white stone is a 4 sided pyramid shape. The handle is stone as well. I'm not sure what they used to get the stones together but on one side it shows excess material that was used to bond them. I'm wondering if the handle is a rock that has some of iron in it they used to melt and adhere the head with. I'm thinking it was a weapon used to puncture the skull down to the brain, an instant kill shot. It could also be a hammer? Any ideas on what it might be or how old it could be?

Feel free to entertain your own personal story of what it could have been i.e. a stone age warriors personal defense system!! LOL

The links work but its best to copy and paste each individual link and delete the '[image]' that has become attached to the URL.

What an interesting artifact! It might be a good idea to take the find into a local museum MrBlueYoMind, they will be able to date it and inform you of its possible use. Keep us updated on what you find out!

Much love,
Sally xx

Looks like it could be anything to me, some piece broken off some stone structure?

I have a good friend who's an archaeologist in IL (Peoria area). She specializes in Native American stuffs. If you can get those links working with some high-res images, I can ask for her professional opinion for you.
