I think you have a bit of a nazi infestation up there in the grey matter, fractal. lol

During WWII the nazis were having rocket success where the Americans and Russians were not. After the war, they were BOTH keen on getting those scientists to work for them....but not so they could be NAZIS! It was simply because the US and Russians wanted to be able to make ROCKETS, and the nazi scientists were the ones who could do it!

What "nazi" agenda could currently be in place in NASA? Do you believe they plan to hide the last few of the fuhrer's boys still alive on Mars or something?

It doesn't really matter if nazis started NASA or not, what matters is what they are doing now.

Okay, the reason I mentioned the NASA thing because it was simply the latest tidbit of news I got that involved people randomly shooting tons of nasty garbage into the atmosphere without care or consent... related to the topic of my original post.

As for NASA, feel free to "not believe" me, but I was simply quoting what they posted on their website, nasa.gov:
"The experiments on the Terrier-Improved Orion rockets will release lithium in the ionosphere. "

But again, this isn't about NASA, it's just about people screwing with the planet left, right, and center, with no disregard to anything or anyone that is making me upset. Mad

Anyway, thanks everyone who had something thoughtful to say. I'm still really angry right now... my work intersected tonight with a conference of doctors discussing the spike in the infant mortality rate (so I couldn't even drown my agony in the meaningless repetition of VISA transactions)... but I'm still looking for inspiration.

I have the next two days off and some tickets to Shpongle. Sad

I understand that worry, fear, anger, and disgust are all REALLY BAD feelings to have, but at the same time I can't help but experience them.

Worst case scenario, I could always join Greenpeace. Confused And/or become a supervillain.

There probably IS a breaking point where more people will start to care, but what does it require? I hope time is on our side.

I also used to be surrounded by a huge circle of friends where we could A) do lots of awesome, positive environmental awareness stuff all the time and B) talk about these things endlessly, but now I really have nobody around me to share this part of my soul with, so, thanks.
Some things will come easy, some will be a test

Enjoi gettting Shpongled! Very happy

I don't know about anyone else... but when I dance, I dance for our mama earth, I dance for health and healing, I dance for love and peace and kindness and compassion. I dance for joy! Music is my ceremony, the ceremony is our gift. The power we raise is the power of love, and our planet can always use moar of that.

I hope you will forget the despair for an evening and find that same joy within your own dance.

-Namaste

Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...

The best I can do is to surround myself with young people and try to teach some reverence for the natural world. The way I see it, if I can impact one or two students per year then I will influence their future families and their children will influence future generations and so on. In this way important memes like reverence for nature can fractally expand. Youth are the vehicles of our cultural future. Talk to them. Labor is like a bright morning sunshine that burns away the fog of despair.

I feel like this post saved this thread from deteriorating into meaninglessness....and I agree completely. I don't think it's all we can do, but I think it is a very very important part of it.

Peace.
If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.
