Hey, about to traverse the universe for my first time in a few days and was just wondering how you can tell if you breakthrough? I've been reading a lot about peoples experiences and a lot of people mention the veil or door that you go trhough, or a chrysanthemum. How would you describe the environment before and after the door? Any distinct differences in patterns visuals or is it just a different feeling of being of being somewhere else?
It's probably been asked before but i couldn't find anything decent. Could someone give like a detailed account of before breaking through and what its like once you gotten through.

Like I said, this is gonna be my first time and I want to know if I've broken through or not, and please dont just say "oh, you'll know"

If you fight it, and it is a weak dose, you may not experience much, and you may be in purgatory/hell.

If you don't fight it, and it is a weak dose, you may feel the beautiful contrasts among your senses.

If you fight it, and it's a strong dose, you may go through hell so intense that your will is broken, and you are transported to heaven/purgatory (it is always your choice).

If you don't fight it, and it's a strong dose, you may find that there is no heaven or hell, only the Universe and endlessness.
The above is for entertainment purposes only.

interesting answer Dedalus. I have to agree. i think it also depends on your brain chemistry and general state of mind when you take the hit that will influence your reaction and your trip (refer to Dedalus post).

there is a clear cut difference between a regular (already overwhelming) dmt trip and a breakthrough thought. It's like the difference between a category 1 earthquake and the apocalypse.

within those two kind of trips there also is a wide range of nuances.
some regular trip are still very visual and some more physical and spiritual (for example i had one where I felt like a girl with no clear face was holding my hand and leading me through some kind of steps somewhere in a very joyful way and another one where I just felt a complete sense of self acceptance and pure utter love inside my body, the feeling I was seeking for all my life, almost like warm heaven flowing inside of me all the while I was having mild visions of amazonian style root trees...).

as far as my experience goes a breakthrough is like a total mindfuck. if you can't put words on it that's a good indication it's a breakthrough. when that happened to me I also heard the metallic noise I've read about several time and saw the bright tunnel of light right before it started.

I know you don't want to hear this but : you'll know when you get there, believe me! ;-)

and if it's your first time i'd advise a small dose just to get used to the initial feeling. i know what it's supposed to feel like but when i take a strong toke i always freak out a bit have the gut feeling "Oh fuck that was too much im gonna die"

as that shaman said to terence mckenna "takes getting used to it"
I always come back thought,
