Forgive me if this has already been asked somewhere else, please feel free to point me to the correct url. I am wanting to find out how to grind the caapi vine. Do I use just a regular coffee grinder or is there a better kind of grinder?

Also, can you tell me about a decent natural food grade extraction Tek? I can't seem to find the post that explained it. Thank you

If you have whole Caapi vine, you will likely need a hammer, and an old towel. Wink

It's pretty tough stuff... but you can fill it with amazing intentions while you pound away and the brew will be most rewarding (energy in = energy out).

i dont think there is a food grade tek for harmalas that im aware of. gibran2's tek has gotten some great praises though with terrific yields.

as far as the vine goes there are at least a few good threads in the past about breaking up the vine, do a search in the aya subforum. i know ive answered that question pretty detailed a few times.

once its broken up to chip sized pieces you might want to consider a blender rather than a coffee grinder. coffee grinder's are so small unless your only using a small amount of vine it will take a bit of work and time that way. sacrifice a cheap blender or just order powdered caapi next time. its not an easy thing to grind up at home.

One thing I would add, after the first couple/few boils when I go to add fresh water that 3rd or 4th time I like to dump the whole thing (vine and water) into the blender and give it another good run to further break everything down. Seems to help a lot Cool
