But I should clarify some.
Thelema has a lot of influences that resulted in its formation. Rosicrucianism, Qabalah, Freemasonry, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. It's really impossible to sidestep the importance of the sun and/or solar deity in most cosmologies. For instance, many of the basic rituals a Thelemite undertakes directly revere Sol through the worship or recognition of solar deities -- Liber Resh, a ritual conducted a few times a day, honors the Sun gods of Dawn, Noon, Dusk, and Night.
It is through this solar and esoteric connection that all these paths have a certain common reverence for essentially the same universal principles.
It is all fine and well to decide that organized religion is to be avoided and discarded, dogma is to be thrown away, but there is a deeper, underlying truth (the esoteric) in them all. I would honestly urge you to study Hermetic philosophy perhaps, or maybe Qabalah. Study Crowley if you will, there are many paths to take and in a large part, you must steer your own path. You'll find mentors as you go (I have one, and a few teachers), but your path must be your own.
I really do wish you success in your search. I understand the disenchanted point of view that you describe, but there really is something great and vast out there if you choose to look.
"'Tis true, without falsehood, certain and most true.
That which is below is as that which is above, and that which is above is as that which is below, to accomplish the miracle of the One thing.
And as all things have arisen from one by the meditation of one: so all things have their birth from this one thing by adaptation.
The Sun is its father, the Moon its mother,
the wind hath carried it in its belly, the earth its nurse."
