Except...it apparently doesn't. Lots of sufferers of cancer have used lots of cannabis as they died from cancer, no?
Cannabis is no panacea, like all drugs its not going to do everything for everyone. Maybe its only certain types of cancers, maybe you have to eat it or vape it v. smoking, and maybe their cancers metastasized so far that cannabis could only do so much, and finally, maybe they have shitty cannabis bec. the government dosent want them to be able to choose which drugs they take Medicinally, recreationally, or spiritually.
I'm pretty sure its the cbd that has anti-tumor properties, from wiki:
Cannabidiol has also been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth with low potency in non-cancer cells. Although the inhibitory mechanism is not yet fully understood, Ligresti et al. suggest that "cannabidiol exerts its effects on these cells through a combination of mechanisms that include either direct or indirect activation of CB2 and TRPV1 receptors, and induction of oxidative stress, all contributing to induce apoptosis."[26] In November 2007, researchers at the California Pacific Medical Center reported that CBD shows promise for controlling the spread of metastatic breast cancer. In vitro CBD downregulates the activity of the gene ID1, which is responsible for tumor metastasis.[27]
So, when the majority of growers focus on THC concentrations bec. prohibition has made that the most profitible way to grow cannabis, maybe we have not focused on really breeding very medicinal plants. Not to say it has not been done by a few, but its far from caught on in the majority of medical users. I think they need to bred more for a full spectrum cannabinoid profile, instead of making a super thc laden product that induces paranoia and anxiety in those predisposed to it.
A friend told of a tale heard from his uncle, where a buddy of his uncle and him had some really potent isomerized hash oil. basically all the other cannabinoids are isomerized into thc somehow, i think it involves sulfuric acid and a solvent while heating. Anyway, his uncles friend had not smoked in a looooooong time. Something like 30 years. The effect of smoking the almost pure thc oil sent him into a really bad panic attack. Full on anxiety and paranoia like a mofo, makes you wonder about marinol. even though its an effective appetite booster, it lacks the anti-cancer, antiinflammitory, and other affects gained from a full spectrum product.
Now, this is no proof or anything, simply a tale that shows how things can change over time. Especially when they are constantly being tinkered with, but that holds true across the board imho.
Think of opiates, which are the most dangerous? The concentrated pure alkaloids, natural or synthetic. Then do some research on full spectrum opium and you will realize that the full spectrum stuff is safer, because its balanced out, and the other alkaloids besides the painkilling ones modulate some of the negative aspects of the opiates. Kind of like how other cannabinoids are known to balance out the high and mellow things out in the right ratios. \
Basically lots of research to be done, and research that prob. will not take place in the US sadly.

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...
The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.โ - Wendell Berry
