Hi, here are the pictures of naphtha I found in the UK shop. Is this naphtha ok for extraction ? Anybody tried it ?

Yup, that was the first naphtha i ever used for extracting. It was ok, but since it is mainly "heavy" naphtha it doesn't work that well compared to the lighter types of naphtha found in brands of lighter fluid, such as Ronsonol and Newport. I wouldn't use it if i were you. I still have most of the bottle sitting in my cupboard.

Edit: I tried to find the MSDS that they used to have on their website but they took it off for some reason. Here is one from a different company which looks similar.

I have some Zippo lighter fluid. I used it before and it worked but some say the Newport and Ronsonol are better. Is that true ? Should I get some of those ? Are these you are using currently ?

I use Ronsonol, but have seen a friend use Newport with good results. Good luck!

it says it contains greater than 30% aliphatic hydrocarbons , what is the rest ?????

it might contain less naptha and more of something else aswell
but swim is just a noob at extractions , try it if nothing else might be possible or go limo or xylene

Zippo fluid and coleman fluid have a bunch of extras in them that might not always come out clean. Take whatever solvent you plan on using an evaporate a small amount and see if it leaves behind any residue.

VM&P Seems to be the first choice for a lot of teks out there that call for naptha, ronsonol seems to be the Canadian equivalent, since VM&P isn't available there.

I ordered some Ronsonol so will see if it makes difference. thank you all for help
