OK, I wonder how close should I keep the torch lighter to the copper screen(2-3cm enough?)? Obviously I shouldn't touch it with the flame?

How can flame touch the spice when tehere ie the ceramic filter in between?

When torching the screen to heat it before putting in your DMT, you can touch it with the flame no problem.

Ceramic filter is removed before one heats the mesh for putting in the spice(so it will stick and not fall through)

@Ragabr: OK, I didn't realize the copper mesh would withstand such heat of direct torching... Will give it a shot.

look put the spice on the mesh and than put the filter back. heat the filter and slowly suck a bit of air through. the spice will melt into the mesh. than you can start evaporate. it is more complicated the way you do it and you can burn the spice. try what I said. it works well trust me.

OK, I will try your tip also. I was worried the spice might fall through when inhaled with this method

it could fall through only if you suck the air too strong. Do it gently and nothing will fall through. just let the warm air go through the mesh with spice, the spice will nicely melt into it. I have done it many times and it never fall through the mesh.

I also started doing it the way you planed but it is just to much hassle. you have to heat the mesh first, than quickly while still hot put the spice on it. sometime it would not even melt cos I did not have enough time to put the spice on it Smile that's why I started doing it as I described and it always works.

Here’s the easy way, given in simple instructions that anyone should be able to understand:

1 --- remove top from GVG.
2 --- ensure that a metal mesh disc is in bottom of GVG chamber.
3 --- heat the metal mesh disc gently with a torch lighter. It doesn’t take much heat to melt DMT.
4 --- while the mesh is still warm, pour a pre-measured dose of DMT onto it.
5 --- replace top. done.

It’s not complicated! Why a dozen posts back and forth trying to explain something so simple? Rolling eyes

This was the way I figured it out in the beginning. I was just wondering if I should avoid touching the mesh with the torch lighter or heat it directly...

One more question: Should the mesh screen be formed so it minimally touches the glass sides of the GVG?

It should match the inner diameter of the chamber. If it's tight/bigger than that, you might get flow from the mesh to the glass sides (not good). If it's smaller, you might get too much air flow around the mesh rather than through it, slowing the vaporization.

I want to make sure one thing: When heating the copper mesh before applying spice, should the torch lighter touch the screen or is it sufficient if it is 2-3centimeters away from the mesh when heating?

I just don't know for sure if the mesh will withstand the heat of direct contact with torch.

thanks

I favor smokerx's approach.Ive never had problems with this at all.GVG diffuser piece off;Mesh in place-a mesh that fits properly;drop spice in and replace glass top;you then melt it into the mesh by applying your flame into the GVG without getting the ceramic diffuser to even glow, then a short sharp breath has it melted, then all systems are ready to go.It works for all freebase things ive tried in the GVG and its less of a process to load, aim and fire.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

CC: That method I'll try also. So first one doesn't inhale at all, just heats the ceramic filter, and then only a short 1-2 second inhalation?

While heating filter from distance inhale slowly till you see the spice melting in then stop heat. Repeat till all spice melted.

To heat the mesh you do not need to touch it with flame. Just hold it above mesh.

If you use the method I suggested than you won't have to worry about this.

Really nice. This was the first time I got my GVG working(you can imagine how excited I was), so it was dosed three times. 25, 30 and 40mg, and what a beautiful world there is, changed my life. After the 40 dose I just had to think in the beginning"WTF this might be too much, just ride it outShocked ", very strong and beautiful, but not impossible to handle, after the initial strongness it became more manageable and pleasant, I could see the famous "joker"/"Trickster" of DMT space embracing and showing the incredible geometrical "centers of energy/life"... I am in deep gratitude to this beautiful spice and it will be connected to me for the rest of my life.

Only thing I found hard to handle was keeping large amount of vapor inside without coughing, is there any suggestions for producing a smoother vapor by adjusting the temperature correctly ?
For me while vaporizing, the tip of the torch lighter was held about 0,5 or less inside the glass bowl and when vapor started coming out the flame was moved about 0,5 above the glass bowl. Would this produce too much heat and therefore making the vapor a bit harsh, or was it done correctly? Any suggestions how to "light up" properly with torch lighter are welcome.

Anyone using liquid pad, buy copper mesh and try it out, if you don't live in the US(like me), buy some from ebay.

PS. I followed your advice on melting the spice with inhalation, and it worked very well, thank you.
