Hey guys, I'm moving to Russia in September (Moscow). I know this is a long-shot, but is anyone from on here based out there? I seem to remember from a couple of years back there was one Russian contributor. What's the scene like for entheogens?

I'm assuming, having been to Russia about 3 times, that it's minimal to non-existant...

I'm not sure what it is like for entheogens, but I remember reading that President Dmitry Medvedev is trying to up the drug war to new heights in Russia. I think it was mostly heroin and the like, but I doubt entheogens will be tolerated either.

Like anywhere, you probably just have to know the right people. The Universe has a way of helping out us psychonauts. Smile

Russia is a police state, so any form of behaviour that is deviant and that COULD possibly be prosecuted will be prosecuted. On the other hand, you could bribe the police whenever you'd get caught.

The only psychedelic from russia i'm aware of is amanita muscaria, but russia is so incredibly big with so many native cultures that there must be many more.

The use of psychedelics from native shamanic cultures is probably EXTRA prohibited, given the russian fear of secession.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've got a feeling it's going to be a long, lean, couple of years. Bearing in mind the guy from this forum who got busted importing Mimosa into NZ, I don't think it's worth the risk.

But like you say Ice, we'll see what the universe throws up :-)

Ahh well, it'll be worth it in other ways! Let's hope the tryptamine palace will still be there when I get back to my nice liberal country hehe.

You may not have heard this, but a senior ex-army officer got assassinated in central Moscow a few days ago. Made barely a ripple in the press here. Here's a story for you from my wife. In about 1995 her dad's brother in law got into gambling debts of about $20,000 with some Georgians. They turned up at his house with Kalashnikovs and demanded that he paid them or they'd kill him and his family. Luckily her dad was already a made man by that time so could raise the cash. They burnt down his house anyway, as a warning.

I was aghast obviously, but she just shrugged and said "that was the 90's in Russia." Those were the days when her dad evaded at least one contract put out on his head and used to take saunas with the governer, the local gang boss and the head of the police.
