Filter the soup
add 200ml water so you wil have a yello greenish clear soup
add Naho base the soup (let base compleatly)

add a solution of sulfuric acid
put the soup in the freezer until just above freezing.
sollits wil formd mescaline sulfate is not soluble in neer freezing water (1)
Collect Solliden

Wow, that's a great idea, I hope this will work !

However wouldn't it be better to perform 3*2h boils rather than a 5h boil ?

Good luck to you.. but I tried a similar strategy and it did not work. I made tea in my usual fashion, reduced to 100ml or so, added ~600 ml acetone, removed the precip'ed cellulose, added sulfuric acid, and put it in the freezer for 2 weeks. I got a very few crystals to precip, and they tasted sour like acid and nothing like what I was looking for.

you're just going to end up with a good deal of sodium sulfate salts and hydrolyzed plant sugars.

the whole point of using a nonpolar solvent is to separate the alkaloids from water soluble salts and plant carbohydrates. a nonpolar phase in this particular type of extraction is necessary, don't avoid it.

sulfate salts are not soluble in acetone, and the tone keeps the solution from freezing solid in the freezer. Check out dgs sulfate salt recrystallization write up for more info. I think benzy is right, that seems to agree with the salts that I got to precip.
