The flame in post #402 is EXTREMELY reminiscent of what I often see prior to breakthrough. I often refer to it as āsmokeā or ācloudsā. In my experiences, it is usually sentient. Also, the color often (but not always) is a good indicator of the experience to follow. Red is often a deep transcendent experience. Blue/gray usually means Iām going to be physically annihilated during breakthrough. Orange means a very intense, very real, and very difficult experience.
During a breakthrough, the ācloudā fills my entire field of view. It moves toward me, constantly changing (as smoke/clouds do), and when it passes through me, Iām on āthe other sideā.
