I did a quick scan of all the movies mentioned, and was appalled no one mentioned Kill Bill. Maybe I missed someone recommending it... Great Movie!

Another by Tarantino... Death Proof.

The Fountain was an absolutely wonderful movie. Aronofsky is brilliant so anything by him is a must watch. Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, Pi... I think he did The Wrestler too, but it is my least favorite.

A few movies that I can watch more than once:

48 Hours
Back to the Future
Black Dynamite
Commando
Enter the Dragon
Evil Dead series
Fantasia
Kung Fu Hustle
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Terminator 2

I think most new movies are very disappointing. Inception for me was/is one of the most overrated movies I have ever seen. I think too many 'alternative' movies are excessively tragic or eccentric just for the sake of it and then are suddenly touted as creative genius and brilliance... Sometimes I think I'm watching different movies to other people Confused

Cannot seem to find a more current Movie thread, so I'll add to this one. Apparently some Dune fans found a bunch of footage that had been edited out of the movie and put it back in, adding another 45 minutes from the 'director's cut'. Since Frank Herbert seemed to have a fascination with psychoactive compounds, I figured there would be some here that would appreciate this fan extended version. Looking forward to watching this soon.

The Emerald Forest, 1985

A movie about the Flux of life and brushes with the Nexus. There are some awesome, deep, moments in that movie.

For me this movie embodies what we have lost in our culture.

Yes, Renegade / Blueberry was very cool. Actually learned about it years ago here on the Nexus, sought it out and loved it. Should probably rewatch again soon.

I need to remember to check this thread the next time I'm sitting there not knowing what type of movie I'm in the mood for. Smile

Some of my favorites:

The Drop, with Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and James Gandolfini
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1600196/

The Man Who Wasn't There. An overlooked one by the Coen Brothers
https://www.imdb.com/tit...243133/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Two by Paul Thomas Anderson:
There Will Be Blood. Daniel Day Lewis plays an absolute Great White Shark of a bastard.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There_Will_Be_Blood
and
Magnolia
https://www.imdb.com/tit...175880/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

A hidden gem.
Heavy
https://www.imdb.com/tit...113280/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1)

Spun. A real weird ride through the lives of methheads, with Mickey Rourke.

That's pretty cool about the older shaman in Blueberry / Renegade. I had no idea.

"There Will Be Blood" was amazing. "I drink your milkshake!" DDL is always a force of acting. Got to visit the house they used for the final scenes and saw the private bowling alley where the final scenes in the movie happen. Kinda surreal to see it in person. I think the exterior of that house was used as Wayne Manor on one of the Batman movies and/or TV shows.

Another Daniel Day Lewis film worth watching/rewatching is "The Last of the Mohicans." Lots of interesting American & Native American history in there that I forgot about. Great performances, loads of well known actors and beautiful scenery around North Carolina.

Never heard of "The Drop". Will have to check it out. "Taboo" was a pretty cool series that Tom Hardy and his father wrote and Tom starred in. Dark and creepy, but some interesting history about slavery, slave trading and the demonic East India Trading Company.

One of my favorite album-series. Not sure if they are available in English.

A lot of things I have learned, in my youth, about the Old West were from these albums.

I enjoyed Spun when i watched it some time ago. loads of great cameos in it. And the series Taboo was good. Loads of good films listed here. I watched Dead Man's Shoes again after a ten year gap. Good film, good sound track and great acting IMO. Another film i have enjoyed that springs to mind, that i will try again soon is Tzameti, but don't watch the american remake. It's sh#t!
I tried The Nines the other night after recommendations from this thread, but i just couldn't get on with it and turned it off after 20 minutes. Maybe i missed out...I dunno.

The Broken Circle Breakdown (2012) - Movie from Belgium, pretty serious story about life and it's challenges. (You'll need subtitles, unless you're Flemish)

Affliction (1997) - Dark emotional movie. Do not watch when you're in a hole.
