Anyone ever had it when they're chewing gum on an empty stomach and it seems to make your stomach work harder as if the sensation of chewing tells it that there's work to do?

Well I've been chewing some gum after eating some cubes and they're coming on pretty fast?

Any science behind this or am I just a douche?

Bitterness also stimulates digestion, even just sensing it on the tongue.
