100g Acacia Confusa lower stem bark, macerated and soaked in water acidified with 3% acetic acid for 2 weeks.
The broth was boiled lightly for half an hour and the boil was repeated with fresh water and a dash moar 3% acetic acid 2x.

The washes were collected and reduced to 800ml, and the sediment was decanted and saved.

The solution was now made to PH 11 with NaOH.

2 pulls were done using roughly 100ml of (R)-(+)-limonene. The first was done over 24 hours. The second was done over a period of at least 5 days.

◆ The first pull was washed with FASW (Fumaric acid saturated water) three times. The FASW was evaporated on a warm hotplate to yield a black jimjam, which hardened and lightened to a shade of brown upon agitation with a blade.

This JimJam was dissolved into Water, to which an equal volume solution of Sodium Carbonate / H20 was added.

Clouding was observed, no precipitate was formed over the period of one day.

The solution was checked for ph and adjusted slightly, then pulled with a volume of approx 100ml 30-60℃ naphtha.

◆The second pull of limo looked much moar promising. It was removed from the mother liqueur after one week, and washed with three volumes of FASW.

The FASW was evaporated on a bain Marie, yielding a white to light yellow to light tan flaky powder. Not particularly similar in consistency to mimosa jimjam (which is often alot more "rocky" an pink.

This was dissolved into water, non soluble residue was observed. Assume to be excess fumaric acid from the FASW washes (there was quite alof of FASW evaporated, over a pint).

The water was filtered and NaOH was added till a ph of roughly 11 was reached. The solution as added to a Separatory funnel and the portion on naphtha used prior was added to the funnel (clearly it was not saturated thus seems suitable)

A solution of bean of Rubiaceae was prepared using fair trade Ethiopian bean, and the pyramid shape of wealth distribution was considered with lament.

The experiment appeared to have formed a precipitate. The funnel was stirred and vented in the hope that the precipitate would be taken into the non polar phase. As it settled out it became clear this hope was futile.

Very happyVery happy brilliant!
If the brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple we couldn't.

CosmicFool is a fictional character, a creation of imagination, and everything written above should not be taken seriously, or perhaps read at all.

What i found odd was the black/brown jimjam that came from the FASW wash of the first limo pull, in comparison to the second pull.
If the protagonist was clever he would have taken pictures, and kept the product separate from later pulls to make further observations.
Hindsight.

Which bit? The fumarate's you see in the picture smell like fumarate's.
The Precipitate that formed upon going basic, seems to dissolve with slight agitation.
The emulsion between basic solution and naphtha has finally settled out.
Naphtha is being evaporated down and precipitated.
Results should follow.
A third Limo pull is being made upon the soup, the intention is for FASI as visible precipitation is nice.

Dude! Great work on the acacia! I was hoping someone was going to experiment with some limo and fumaric acid. I'm curious as to how the final freebase turns out. I really want to try Q21Q21's Tek on some acacia when i get round to ordering some. I am guessing you got the bark from MH-UK due to it being the "lower stem bark". Awesome work, man Smile

Naphtha freeze precipitation has yielded a yellow oil much similar visually to results from STB. The yield looks low but the extraction is not complete yet so its early days.

any results? excited to hear. Currently trying Q21Q21's Vinegar/Lime A/B Extraction Tek with naptha right now on 50g acacia, then will try the same with xylene. after freeze percip, getting the crystals dry is swims biggest issue. but swim has not tried salting yet.

Recrystallization yielded the same amount of clear oily substance, which appeared to oxidize upon standing in room temp air over a couple of days. No crystals were yielded from this experiment.
What is interesting is the high yield of fumarates and low yeild of freebase oil. Perhaps there is significant loss during the freebasing, which did not crash out as per a normal freebasing of DMT fumarate with Sodium carbonate solution.

More experimentation is needed on these fumarates. Only the first pulls of fumarates were freebased using the Sodium carbonate / H20 method. The later... more successful fumarate pulls were not freebased like this but rather freebased with lye and pulled with naphtha. Im not sure where the loss is occurring.
