Hello everyone! I'm a new member, but have read through alot of the site before. I have a quick request that somebody has any tips on using "the machine" for the first time?

I have a couple of questions that I'd really like some tips on if anybody has the time.

Is it better to drop the dmt through the hole in the bottom of the little hennessy bottle, the one you toke through, so it goes through the chamber and lands on top of the steel wool/scourer? I'd imagine it is so the flame is further away, but seems like its a bit messy.

also I've read to heat the glass neck to melt the dmt into the steel, is this just done for a second or two?

and finally, i'm guessing that after this is done, the 'machine' is held vertically, with a flame a good bit away from the opening with the steel and begin sucking immediately? It'll prob take a few hits also i'm wondering if possible, or is it possible to get a nice strong effect from one long toke?

When SWIM used the Machine, she would pull the copper pad out, put the spice on it and then place the pad inside her glass tube, with the spice on the inner side of the pad. Then she would apply heat to the bottom of the pad until the spice melted.

Edit: many here at the Nexus prefer to take their dose all in a single hit. It takes some experimentation to find your sweet spot though, work your way up.

For sure! Also, many people like to work their way up, instead of taking it in one hit. SWIM falls into this crowd, though she'll do the one-hit wonder once in a blue moon.

Cheers, i was wondering if it would be better to try and get it in one, seems like taking a toke and keeping it in and trying to go again for a second or even a third would be difficult, as the effects take hold and also because aren't you supposed to only have a very short time to smoke your full hit?

Hey, just got my machine and all that all ready to be fired up. Hoping somebody had any info on best was to load the spice into the machine, pour through the hole at base of bottle so lands on steel in the neck, or removing the steel, load up, and put back in?

both methods seem a bit messy to me? maybe they're not. Any advice be very much appreciated.

Sprinkle it on the mesh from the outside. Gently heat the bottleneck until you see the spice melting into the mesh. Remove flame. Now you can use the machine. Go easy with the flame so you won't burn it. Because of its size, prepare for very hot hits. In my opinion, modding a small bubbler with brillo/copper mesh is better. But i also started with the machine, and so can you. Just be cautios. I would also hold it horizontally and heat the bottleneck until it vaporizes. Only apply heat to the mesh after the first hit, so you can get leftover spice. The problem is, you can burn the spice molten into the top layer of the mesh. If you're having trouble getting vapor, hover your flame over the mesh, but do not let it touch. But then you might have to hold it verticaly, and this can be dangerous in my opinion, because the flame is so close to your face, it might burn you in case of loss of "acurate" space perception.
