I'm wondering if this is going to be enough cactus for a trip. The Cactus is Peruvian Torch, 25cm high. I've never taken cactus before and haven't really got time to be researching this at work. It's been a long time since I new anything about taking cactus. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Space attached the following image(s): cac.jpg (28kb) downloaded 183 time(s).

That is one fat piece of cactus. I mean really!
If thats even in the slightest bit potent it would be 1 hell of a trip.
Its possible that could be enough for 2 or maybe 3 people.
...unless you have very small hands.

duuuuuuuuuude! Do Not Eat that whole cactus...... you gotta propagate that fat f#@ker!!! Cut/Save 4-5 inch tip - let it scab for 3 weeks - put it in the ground and don't water it until you check for root-probes (and find them) Yeehaw Thats a fat cactus... even if they are small hands (and I bet they are..the arm looks so thin) thats a big boy All posts written by Madcap should be regarded as fiction.

I actually know that plant personally The very same one, and unless you bought that specific clone over a year ago from CC then the one you have is not the one shown in the picture, I watched that auction last year and that particular clone (in the picture) went for hundreds of dollars (all of CC's peruvianus goes for hundreds because it is the genuine tits!).
Anyway, its potent... near %2 depending on how you care for it. And its the meanest peruvianus you will probably ever come across in your life
god speed!

Phlux- wrote:looks like a weidermannaus or tsherkii Its funny you should say that, because the guy who sells the clones actually bought the original seed thinking it was Tsherkii. Years later he realised it is a Peruvianus. A whole liftetimes experience in growing these plants gives the man very good reason to be right... hes a bit of a local legend round these parts. And certainly one of the most knowledgable cacti merchants in the south pacific

So is there a chance of yielding a cacti like that from seed due to genetic lottery? Which environmental conditions would be needed to get such a royally righteous specimen matured? Antichode, would you be able to put me in contact with this person? Pm is fine. I would greatly appreciate speaking to such a person. “Right here and now, one quanta away, there is raging a universe of active intelligence that is transhuman, hyperdimensional, and extremely alien... antichode -heh yeah the whole trichocereus genus naming system is totally broken. beautiful cactus nonetheless. antrocles wrote:...purity of intent....purity of execution....purity of experience...

Xt wrote:So is there a chance of yielding a cacti like that from seed due to genetic lottery? I think its simply a case of mis-identification from the seed vendor many years ago. Not surprising tho, you flick through some of the expert botanical books that were written back in the 60's & 70'3 and Trich's of all sizes shapes and genes are called the same thing when they look totally different... As flux said, the naming system is totally wack. And then if you add the Spanish to English language barrier in the mix Xt wrote:Which environmental conditions would be needed to get such a royally righteous specimen matured? As for getting a cacti to look like that, its a) a lot of patience, the mother plant this clone came from is likely very old with a huge root base which means the offsets will be fatter from the get go and b) slow release fertalizer, this ensures even growth so you end up with beautiful straight columns. Then theres the standard stuff like plenty of water in summer, free draining soil and plenty of light etc. Xt wrote:Antichode, would you be able to put me in contact with this person? Pm is fine. The site is here: http://cacti.co.nz/But dont expect to gleam too much info from the man, especially anything entheogen related, they are all above board in that respect. He also wont sell you a Peruvianus like the one in the picture (Ive tried many times and Im a regular customer), they dont sell it from their shop and they dont even show it on their site. They sell them occasionally on a local trading site and they always get snapped up for a princely sum. Its a rare plant.
