Please NOTE: I do not know if the combination below is alright or not. These are just experiments my cat has done.

My cat has been experimenting with low dosage b.caapi for a good 6 months, due to having to deal with life long depression. During those six months, there was a lot of hit and miss. Some days he would drink a tea made out of 20mg of caapi, and then he began to use the powdered caapi in gel caps(Size 000 or 00). He began to notice that if he took a certain amount at least every 3 days, that he would experience no depression, and that constant backbeat of fear, anxiety and worry was subsiding more and more. He was alert and oriented, did not feel spacy or high. He than began to use powdered chaliponga and made gelcaps out of it. His dosage was 5 to 10 caps of caapi and 2 to 5 caps of chaliponga every other day before bedtime. Things were going well for many months, and then a wonderful surprise....

My cat had been thinking about trying amanita muscaria again. For 2 years he'd read a lot about how unpleasant the "entheogenic' dosage of amanita trips would be, that it is not as good as the psilocybin. He had tried them a few times and only felt sleepy on low dosages, and on higher dosages he felt unpleasant side effects. He had just gave up on amanita being anything he'd could benefit from.

Recently, my cat started thinking about them again. While on caapi, he came to the idea to try amanitas on a very low dosage in conjunction with a few puffs of marijuana, and a few caapi mixed with chaliponga gelcaps. These were tiny amounts...(just straight powered caapi and chalipona in a gelcap). He consumed 8 size 00 gelcaps made with b.caapi, and 5 chaliponga gelcaps, one small amanita muscaria cap (approximately 1 to 2 tablespoons), and a bowl of sativa. Within 45 minutes, my cat found himself in an enchanted forest with elves, gnomes, pixies and the most beautiful world he could have ever imagined...it was very intense and real, although he was still able to function and experience being here in this "real" world too. He saw many beautiful amanita muscarias that began to talk to him and surprisingly he did not feel alarmed or afraid of being in two places at the same time.

My cat has since, repeated the experience, and each time has been pleasant.

He believes that amanita muscaria is not to be taken the same way as any other entheogen. It's peaceful and euphoric effects along with the enchanted magical heavenly bliss trip only come to a certain frame of mind. My cat believes that small and regular dosages of caapi can help ease the transition of going into any trip, whether it is amanita or psilocybin. Also, it seems amanita muscaria's side effects can be transcended at a certain state of mind, the spookyness seems to be a test or a threshold....at one point my cat noticed sweating but questioned whether he was really hot or not, and was able to completely stop sweating or feeling hot. He had had this same thing happen when he once drank san pedro tea, and for a brief moment in time was able to shut off the bitterness.

Amanita muscaria is definitely a magic mushroom, and well worth the time and patience to get to know it in small dosages - IF you are seeking spiritual wisdom from it. It will not do well if you're seeking a party high.
Have you had any similar experiences?

Interesting.
Very few poeple have had positive significant experience with amanita.
I'm one of them. I also experience fantastic realms travelling while synergistically combining amanita pantherina (4grams caps and stems, eaten at breakfast on eggs) and 3 drops of lsd (appr.300mics).
This was very far from lsd alone. It was way more magical, and transpersonnal or as you describe, being able to be HERE and THERE.
I did repeat the experience and see it was combining well but not as hit at this first time. I dunno why.
I jsut wonder how safe is it to combine with caapi.
Thanks for sharing.

It was only lately when I learned from this mushroom that it does work differently.

To be able to get the full potential out of this magic mushroom, you have to put yourself into a special state first. You may call it trance, deep meditation - whatever. There are some entheogens which are able to do that. MJ surely is one of them and works nicely here. But of course madre ayahuasca can do it too. Combining them all must be truly magical, a very nice idea magickpsychonaut!

Siberian shamans use amanitas for ages. I think they work so well for them because they are naturally able to put themselves into trance (by using various shamanic techniques)

I too wonder how safe it is. I've only experimented with fairly small doses of a. muscaria tea, steeped at roughly 180F (somewhere just below boiling point) for 30 minutes. How small? I don't remember the weight and I dare not guess. I felt effects after ~2 hours, slightly sedated, slightly uncoordinated, and slightly euphoric.

I believe ibotenic acid and muscimol are present in a. muscaria. They say ibotenic acid is the substance that makes you ill when ingesting the mushroom and muscimol is responsible for psychoactive effects. It is my understanding that ibotenic acid is decarboxylated and becomes muscimol through the following processes: 1) through slow curing/drying, outside, in partial sun with a light breeze (supposedly the best way to cure them) and 2) through application of heat when making tea.

I heard an anecdote about mycologists- it's said that a. muscaria's listing as "poisonous" is a sort of inside joke, and that you will sometimes find amanita gravy at mycologist's dinner parties. It's supposedly the most delicious gravy in the history of mankind.

I did a quick search to make sure I was not spreading any bad information and found an article by Ott on Erowid. Looks like a good read, but since I'm at work, I can't devote the time and concentration to it at the moment. Regardless, I would be in no way qualified to speak of safety, and I would keep my mouth shut about such things.

I'm curious to hear what knowledgeable Nexians have to say about your combination. On a whim, I picked up a couple huge caps with a recent order. I'd planned to nibble a small bit on a hike and use some to explore possible medicinal properties I've heard about- the mushroom could be a valuable addition to an herbalist's kit. Writing has brought back the fond memory of a nice tea (so vividly that I am now calm after a hectic day), so I may just have to make some!
