Mssrs. Orwell & Huxley would be proud. http://www.techdirt.com/...complain-about-tsa.shtmlTSA Says 'You Might Be A Terrorist If... You Complain About The TSA' from the seriously-guys? dept Ah, the TSA. Apparently among the "behavioral factors" that the TSA uses in determining who might be a criminal or a terrorist is... if you complain about the TSA. I guess that means I'm in line for some extra scrutiny. Honestly, though, this sounds a lot more like punitive action against people who complain, rather than a legitimate characteristic of someone who deserves extra scrutiny. Specifically, one of the factors is if someone is: "Very arrogant and expresses contempt against airport passenger procedures." An ACLU person quoted in the article wonders if this violates the First Amendment, in that it's going after someone for expressing their opinion: "Expressing your contempt about airport procedures -- that's a First Amendment-protected right," said Michael German, a former FBI agent who now works as legal counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. "We all have the right to express our views, and particularly in a situation where the government is demanding the ability to search you." "It's circular reasoning where, you know, I'm going to ask someone to surrender their rights; if they refuse, that's evidence that I need to take their rights away from them. And it's simply inappropriate," he said. Honestly, you'd have to think that a real terrorist or criminal, hoping to avoid calling attention to themselves, wouldn't be openly hostile to the search procedure, but would try to be quiet and blend in. Perhaps the TSA will defend this latest ridiculousness by saying it's all okay because it's standard operating procedure. "But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. The present moment, ultimately, is more than enough, a gift of grace and unfathomable value, which our friend and lover death paints in stark relief."-Rick Doblin, Ph.D. MAPS President, MAPS Bulletin Vol. XX, No. 1, pg. 2Hyperspace LOVES YOU

Unbelievable. Well I might as well come out and say it. Fuck the TSA. Guess I'm a terrorist now huh. If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.

I have a great solution for that- If you dont like em, dont deal with em. dont fly. ride share, walk, swim, run, hitch hike, train, Bus, teleport. I havent flown in 10 years, I'm not missing a thing. I have been losing friends at my work place because I have been expressing my complete disgust with the procedures employed by the TSA. I am overwhelmed that so many people value their supposed "safety" above their freedom. I have not flown since these procedures have begun being used, and I don't plan to. NERF THE WORLD!! All posts are completely fictional and for educational purposes only

Circular logic is one of those weird human inventions. Al-qaida has a simmilar one: all good muslims must be willing to sacrifice their lives in a terror attack against the west, therefore it is Ok to blow up muslims because if they would complain about it they wouldn't be good muslims in the first place.
Do you still have to fill in those forms when flying to america, where they ask you if you're a terrorist or whether you've been working for the nazi's during the 40's?
I always wondered whether that is because they think to catch terrorists with those forms, or whether if you fill in 'yes' there's someone from the CIA waiting for you when you exit the plane, to offer you a job....

TSA are the real terrorists. So are cops. I refer to TSA gropers as PIGS. Just like cops, they are no different. Fuck 'em. Pandora wrote:...if you complain about the TSA. I guess that means I'm in line for some extra scrutiny. Honestly, though, this sounds a lot more like punitive action against people who complain, rather than a legitimate characteristic of someone who deserves extra scrutiny. That's exactly what it is. TSA and govt are afraid of facing the TRUTH of what they are actually doing. Hence, the aggressive stance toward those they say are "complaining". They are NOT "complaining". They are PROTESTING. PROTESTING against molestation, PROTESTING against fascist authoritarianism, PROTESTING against injustice. WE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO. fractal enchantment wrote:never ever been on an airplane..never will. I drove from canada to mexico twice..I have no need to fly anywhere. Driving is much more enjoyable and rewarding than flying. You have the right idea, FE. People who insist on flying to their destination are disconnected from the natural beauty of the land. If we were meant to be airborne, we would have grown wings out of our backs. TSA are not terrorising people? I beg to differ. Who ever infringes their liberty and checks up on them? These barbarians are themselves terrorists for persecuting and opressing those who oppose them or even express the slightest disagreement with them. They and similair organisations are a fascist tumor that oughta be removed from all human societies if we wish that in the near future "Freedom" is more than just a distant memory of which the meaning is lost. They themselves bomb 1000s of people to death and disability worldwide in false flag "terrorist"-attacks, blame and demonise Islam and then use this lie as a reason for taking away our Freedoms 1 by 1 untill we are nothing more than Domestified, labour-animals.
There. Am I on a watchlist now? I bet I allready am on a watchlist for having a fascination for non-monotheistic cultures and Entheogen use.

I agree with everybody who has said screw TSA. Flying has become a real bummer with all of the invasive crap of the TSA and because the airlines have cut services to the bone. However, I think I will take an airplane when I need to go somewhere far. I don't have 4 days to drive across country each way. I sure as hell don't have time to take a boat to Europe when I need to go there. Everything mentioned herein has been deemed by our staff of expert psychiatrists to be the delusional rantings of a madman who has been treated with Thorazine who is hospitalized within the confines of our locked facility. This patient sometimes requires the application of 6 point leather restraints and electrodes at the temples to break his delusions. Therefore, take everything mentioned above with a grain of salt...

This tsa guideline is probably from the new department of homeland security training, which has as part of it this watch list: Quote: Expressions of libertarian philosophies (statements, bumper stickers) Second Amendment-oriented views (NRA or gun club membership, holding a CCW permit) Survivalist literature (fictional books such as "Patriots" and "One Second After" are mentioned by name) Self-sufficiency (stockpiling food, ammo, hand tools, medical supplies) Fear of economic collapse (buying gold and barter items) Religious views concerning the book of Revelation (apocalypse, anti-Christ) Expressed fears of Big Brother or big government Homeschooling Declarations of Constitutional rights and civil liberties Belief in a New World Order conspiracy
These are characteristics that according to dhs should be watched for, because they could indicate that you are a potential homegrown terrorist. The second to last on the list is my favorite, Chilling. Here's a link to the article: http://www.networkworld....ou-might-be-domestic-terUnited Staes Of Amnesia. Can't these people see where this is heading? Soon, we'll be hearing the phrase: "I was just following orders." Welcome Home Mister_Niles. We've Been Waiting For You.

Look them right in the eye and ask "If I tell you what I think of your procedures, will this take a longer? Or should I just keep my opinions to myself?" Chances are that's not on their list. "Blinded by their own sight, hearing, feeling, and knowing, they don't perceive the radiance of the source. If they could eliminate all conceptual thinking, this source would appear, like the sun rising through the empty sky and illuminating the whole universe." - Huang Po
