I've been wanting to ask, Does anyone else feel as if the "entheogen" culture is making a comeback? It seems like everyone and their mom is on the spirituality train, and I wonder where it will take us if it continues...Imagine if the hippies had actually taken over, can you imagine how different the world would be at this precise moment? How are you, as a person and earth-bound spirit, contributing to a more united world? Are you?

What changes in your life have you made as a result of continued DMT lessons? How has this change affected others?

Shocked

Ah, fuck it, I'll get this thread rollin...

From the first time I smoked DMT, until this very moment, my life has bee riddled with changes in the right direction. I guess number one was quitting smoking after 12 yrs, as well as abstaining from all drugs other than DMT and Cannibis since my first encounter. I have not only learned a lot about myself, but have also learned a lot about others, due to the fact that one is able totally immerse themselves in someone else's mind while under the influence of DMT...I am now full of patience and understanding...Where before, I was a total ass, disregarding peoples feelings towards my statements, I am now (somewhat) able to hold an inner-dialogue with myself before I actually speak out loud, which has proved to save my ass plenty of times...I am no longer afraid of Death, and am totally immersed in a magical world that I have created, with one foot in this dimension, and the other foot in eternity, journyig every day..Like I said to my Dad, screw coffee, I DIE AND AM REBORN EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE WEEK...no better way to start the day! My life is now laced with a force of SUCH GOOD, I cannot believe I ever lived without this connection...I am whole.

Just having returned from the Breaking Convention, a psychedelic conference, I have to say, you are not the only one to think the psychedelic movement is coming back. There we saw speakers from various fields - from science to philosophy that all felt like we were living though the second psychedelic renaissance.
While this can be spiritually inclined I guess the more important aspect is that of cognitive liberty - the liberty to think and move our minds to where we want, and explore what we want.

To me the lessons have been vast and basically ingrained themselves into every part of my life. I've become more aware of things that make me up as a person and to grasping this and moving myself into a position towards manifesting a future in which I can unfold my potential. Whether this will happen in this way in the end I cannot say, but the vision of it is continuously increasing as I look deeper into the well of my self, with the help of entheogens.
Additionally they have made me see and understand the difference between love and fear, regression and progression, potential and inhibition... with much greater clarity.

I also feel the ability to connect much better to the people around me, if I am so inclined. Now all I have to do is work on that inclination... Very happy

cheers & love

Harmalosa, thank you very much! There are so many unique and talented individuals in this forum, artists, poets, musician, teachers of all kinds, and I believe when we come together as we often do, we are participating in the energy boost that this corner of culture deserves! Your kind words were nice to hear before bed!

Enoon, awesome post! I can relate to that feeling of being positioned in the path of great opportunities and possibilities as well! After a difficult lesson, one which I passed, I took my dog for a walk and found a 48' HD widescreen tv in someone's front yard with a "free" sticker on it..It had wheels, so I could roll it home..I did, and it actually worked! I was amazed, not because I think the molecule "gave" it to me, or something like that, but because of the placement/timing of this awesome find, and how it fit in with my lesson...amazing, yes?! lol

Also, regarding that convention you attended, this sounds totally interesting! Would you happen to know a site or something with a listing of them? I'm in the southern cali area, so I'm sure we gotta have something goin on around here...If you can come up with anything, it will be appreciated! Once again, thanks, I can't wait to see what others post!

I feel we are moving into a new age. One where people awaken to "reality" and see just what we as humans are doing to our one and only thing we need to survive: The Earth. I don't think that everyone will feel it, and some will be "left behind"... but anyways....

Ever since I took my first hit of DMT (4yrs ago) I've been on an inner journey to find "myself". What am I doing to build my own reality? Experiencing, learning, and finally teaching. I believe that is all there really is to life. We are here to experience, and to learn, and then finally teach those that come after us... shitty thing is, at this point in time, we don't have many to teach us Sad

I'm actually getting a lot of things ready for a big change in my lifestyle... one where I'll fully be able to immerse myself into myself an my surroundings. I've got plenty of experience, and now I just need to learn from them. That is my next phase... it's just damn hard to learn anything when all these distracting forces pull me away...

One day I think it'd be nice to setup a "colony" sort-of-speak, out in some remote area... and work as a "people" (however small the group) to live (experience, learn, teach).

So what am I doing? Not contributing. Not listening. Not believing. To those in "power" (media, government, etc). I'm making my own world, little by little, one molecule at a time, until I have what I want: A nice cave somewhere. Smile
01:13:08 ‹Ellis DEmpty› I met the people living in my head... I disturbed them while they were sitting down at the table.... They were as shocked as I was!

We were born too soon to explore the cosmos, and to late to explore the earth. Our frontier is the human mind; religion is the ocean we must cross.

Speaking of this psychadelic 'revival', here is an interesting post I saw on my FB wall today...The title says its about the end of the world, but after the first paragraph, it touches on exactly what we're commenting about..

Unfortunately, I'm beginning to see, while the DMTNEXUS is a great informational tool, its members are no more unique and kind-hearted than the average Joe. No one wants to speak of ideas, truth, or wisdom, or maybe I haven't found those people yet...

When I first used ayawaska and realized how powerful of a tool it was, I assumed that anyone that ingested the molecule would be placed on a path of compassion and concern for themselves and their fellow peoples.

But you are right, TBO, I too am beginning to realize that DMT is a tool just like any other: its potential lies in the hands of the user... I had this ideal in my mind when I first came here that users of DMT were all compassionate, nature-loving vegan buddhists that recycle everything possible and ride their bike 20 miles to work in the snow and willingly disrupt their routine to help someone in need that they don't know and will probably never see again.

I placed this ideal on others because I had placed it on myself. But the truth is, the lessons learned under the influence can be ignored just like any other lesson (NOTE: I have not broken through on smoked DMT, and speak from the experience of a few ayawaska encounters and dozens of other psychedelic journeys). imo, it takes work to integrate lessons learned from psychedelics just as it takes work to integrate lessons learned from a spiritual guide or good book; it is a helluva lot more interesting learning them via the former method, however.
Hydrocarbon is indeed a real person existing in real time. However, Hydrocarbon is actually a proxy for another individual, Nemano, that lives outside the realm of current Terran laws and regulations. All posts made by Hydrocarbon in which "I", "me", and other references to himself are the voice of Nemano speaking digitally through Hydrocarbon. Any illicit, immoral, or otherwise questionable behavior that Hydrocarbon appears to be admitting to are actually the actions of Nemano.

Occasionally, Hydrocarbon has been known to inject his twisted sense of humor into Nemano's words, but anything stated that was particularly witty or insightful was most likely not the result of Hydrocarbon's intellect.

Have patience! All of us have started threads that got no or little response, even if it was senior members or seemingly interesting subjects. Or often there are threads that took longer to pick up. I mean, it hasnt even been a week and you're already posting complaining about others and how people are not kind-hearted? Dont you think you might be over-reacting or being in too much of a haste?

Maybe people didn't see the thread, maybe people are too busy these days, maybe people dont want to brag about what they do to help the world, maybe people are just not interested in this topic for the moment, or maybe people will post at some time.

Ill be honest, personally whenever I see people complaining about no answers, it makes me want to respond even less. Maybe I'll post something relevant to the original topic question later, but I go eat now.

By the way, I suggest checking the whole 'Sustainable Nexus' subforum (maybe I should move this thread there?), as its relevant to the subject, regarding how to change the world, make a positive impact or diminish negative impact in different ways.

Sorry about that, guys, that was something that was never intended to be posted, not on this thread anyway. The responses here were more than satisfactory! Better days have come, and its totally ok to move the thread to the appropriate topic..I guess I'm still getting used to what subject gets posted where, but I'm gettin it! Thanks!

Since psychedelic awakening...

When asked to speak about it, its hard not to! For a start, I reckon psychedelics have opened me up to the path of betterment. Betterment of mind, body, relatedness and general being. I'm more aware of the world, and I'm growing more aware of how to deal with it. When this starts, it's hard to stop and growth comes naturally

I'm all so sensitive to the blights of the society we currently live in. So many people I see, everyday, with problems, problems they themselves do not understand - they also don't understand its not their fault... it's a societal infection and this doesn't have to be the norm. Seeing through things displayed on television and the myth of mundanity (mundaneness) is pretty rough going and I find myself getting emotional when out with my friends drinking... last year I would have be having a great time, but now I'm near tears and can't bring myself to take a drink or communicate mundanely. Misunderstandings, assumptions and ill-consideration are the simple things stopping humanity from achieving its potential.

With things more understood, the utterly pointless things - I don't want to do... I really want to do something with meaning... I want to help people see through the myth of mundanity... the world is not boring, trivial and empty like our society makes it for many.

I feel more brave, the small things don't bother me. Diet has influenced my mood - I'm sensitive to small changes in it. Exercising more also. Creativity is pronounced... fewer and fewer hours are being wasted like they used to be. Things are beautiful... as if internal DMT levels have been markedly increased. Dreams are more real.. there are more of them. Improved memory, synchronicity shows me what matters and adds continuous mystery to life.

Many more things to be said... still growing and learning... can't believe there's potentially 80 years odd more of this style of life left to live... if revelation does not slow down who knows where I'll be

Do you know about rainbow gatherings? They take place all over the world, but there is one in the national forest of the United States every summer, around the fourth of July. Some people go for a month or two and work to build up an eco city in the middle of the woods, it's really inspiring, and you can learn a lot from watching what people do and how they do it. This summer it's going to be in Washington state for the 40th annual gathering.

The is definitely a huge contingent of the culture in SoCal. If you're anywhere near Los Angeles, there's an Evolver.net spore there, and the Temple of Visions visionary art gallery in downtown LA serves as something of a community center.

So my plan to make a positive impact in this world is through 2 simultaneous paths: 1- self improvement, trying to make myself healthier and more balanced, standing the 'tests of life' as best as I can. This is something that will last my whole life because I will always have my weaknesses and faults to struggle with, I dont believe in a fixed 'enlightened' state, but rather in a continuous process of self development.

and 2- education, which is my line of work.

But this is more general, not necessarily related to psychedelics. When it comes specifically to psychedelics, I try to 'build' through the nexus, forum and wiki, helping people become more autonomous by learning how to extract, trying to spread a good attitude, and informing my real-life friends about psychedelics when they are open to listening.

Endless -

The constant self betterment thing is something I've realised too. It's a cliché that psychedelics make you enlightened and that is that - but there is no denying it is a push onto the right path.. a push that nowadays can be very helpful due to the small chance that people have in such a society to find a transmundane lifestyle.

Our current education system gives many a resistance toward learning for the rest of their lives... associating something which should help a spiritual pursuit of happiness and understanding with mundane repetition and that feeling of being caved-in.

I guess what keeps on reinforcing peoples "reality" is through our interactions. If we constantly reinforce mundane, repetitive, non-questioning attitudes and behaviours it will stick, so I suppose being a bit different can help Smile

It is quite rare to find an open ear though isn't it? I feel talking about it all is so hard simply because it isn't a commonplace thing to dicuss
