Hey newbie here, just wanted to ask some questions. Im looking at doing my first extraction soon, ill be using vovins tek that I got from this site along with some labratory equip my friend has obtained, Ill be starting of small just to perfect the procedure and get it down right, but my question was is it better to do small bits as you need it or get a large amount of bark/root and do it that way? and if so whts the best way to keep a larger amount, in a tube in the freezer or?

I dont think for first extraction you should do a very big extraction, just in case something goes wrong. There's a few people that do like 50g mimosa first extraction, which should result in 400mg-1g DMT depending on bark and extraction thoroughness. Though the work of making a bigger extraction isnt much more than of a small one, so I think maybe if you read it up well and feel like you undertand the reason behind the different steps of the extraction process and make sure you have clean solvent and so on, it might be worth it to make a 100-150g extraction already, and then just store the DMT.

As the FAQ says, DMT doesnt really degrade significantly. With light/air/heat exposure, it can get darker/waxy but it is still perfectly active IME, even after very long time. Seems its only a superficial oxidation, and DMT N-oxide is anyways psychoactive. In any case of course ideal is storage in some dark airtight vial/container in the freezer or fridge. Often people also do a fumarate salting of the solvent to have DMT Fumarate, since that is considered to be a very stable salt form (and one can either take it orally as it is or convert back to freebase doing the conversion mentioned at the end of BLAB tek with sodium carb and water)

Hey Physicx. Im newbie to DMT extractions too. Ive been starting to get together all the stuff I need to do my first extraction.

I had a read through that tek you plan to use: Vovin's Tek. Just wondering is there any reason you chose to go with that one?

It seems like people are putting alot of work into developing food safe teks that dont use Lye especially (which apprently is pretty nasty).

just mainly was easiest one for me to follow haha, yeah ive been gathering up the stuff I need aswell got a mate who does Neuroscience so hes helped me gather chemisty equip for like free. I also got 1kg of MHBR and 1kg of Acaica Maidenii, and I probly will do further research into the lye thing to get a safer way of doing it.
