Well..... it's that time again. Cactus action back again for the first time. This time: no limo, no lime, no vinegar.
Just me, a couple knives, a pot, a spoon and some citric acid...
a kitchen....
some weed....
peaches....
I de-spined, ribbed and skinned a couple small cuttings. Totaling about 14-16 inches of pedro.
He's in the pot now!
More precisely, he was in the pot last night. He spent the day in the freezer and now he's back in the pot again. After this, I'm going to do it again and again until he is no longer bitter.
I'm reducing down the water from yesterday's simmer right now as well. Its an exciting evening in the kitchen. I'm toking a little bho (finally found a use for that bulb pipe I bought before I got a vg)
This is my very first bit of fresh cactus action! I have been growing cactus for a year now and have some great looking torch and pedro. I couldn't bring myself to take an untrained blade to any of my babies. I bought a couple live cuttings online and decided to work the kinks out on them. I saved the tips and am prepping them to propagate. (hopefully, they will prove potent when put to purpose)
The knifework wasn't bad at all. Phlux's cactus prep tek was a great manual for that process.
I left the chunks big and simmered lightly per the "resin update". I have really high hopes for this experiment because the thought of getting a even more full spectrum extract is appealling.
I will most likely do the acetone bomb on a portion of this to compare.
Will Post pictures of results...but did not take pictures of the process as its pretty much as described in so many posts.
