The title says it all. Writing this good is very rare indeed. I hope you read it all. It's worth it to get to the bit about the catfish at the end . . . . not to mention the surreal descriptions of the local culture. Funny, last I had heard, on a documentary about a decade ago, they thought there wasn't much in the way of mutation or genome damage. Well, here we are a bit further along. Chilling. And yet the title is perfect . . . http://www.saloforum.com...ing-irradiated-eden.728/"But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. Thanks for this - quite relevant, and hopeful in its way. L "The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool." Richard P. Feynman

Is the above documentary the one that shows the feral cat colonies thriving in Pripyat? If so, that's the old one that says (if I remember correctly) that because the local life all live and die (have a generation) in under 20 years the genetics appeared okay. The link I provided is brand new and has up to date information. Chilling report. "But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. yes, thank you - very engaging writing... both chilling and hopeful "in its way", as Ljosalfar said. sets the stage for a bizarro future in which Slavic tribes hunt giant bio-luminescent wild boar under the shadow of the 'giant steel sarcophagus' of reactor 4... truth truly is stranger than fiction!

There is a website somewhere with gruesome details on the children born since. I'll try to track it down. All of my posts are generated by CrapChatBot_V2.012a. No real parson is associated with any of the content which may be spontaneously created.

Just watched this earlier today - it's a really well made documentary about a waste storage facility they are currently building that is designed to last 100,000 years. Thought provoking stuff. There can't be a long term future for the nuclear option. Into EternityOh great - the world has just been replaced by elf machinery. Sic transit gloria mundi
