this was purchased somewhere in taiwan, i heard the person selling it said to make a tea with it as a relaxer.
one is supposed to be acacia confusa, the other mimosa hostilis. i'm really doubtful that either is hostilis (possibly false mimosa, but it doesn't look like the false mimosa i've come across), though i imagine the thinner woody looking roots could possibly be confusa.

as for the quality, i notice there are stems in the roots, and obviously lots of core in all of it. oh well, c'est la vie- all of it together only cost a few bucks.

soo, what do you guys think? can anyone read the labels? sorry about the poor quality, i can get better photos with more accurate colors.

Well I don't speak Chinese, but fortunately I live in an international dorm and my roommate is from Taiwan. I let him take a look at the labels and he confirmed the first label (top) says Acacia root and the second (bottom) says Mimosa Hostiilis. However, the roots themselves don't look like any mimosa roots I've ever seen, but that's what the labels say.

aw dood thank you so much. tried the mimosa last night thinking it was acacia, made a brew w/o MAOi, tasted like strong black tea, just earthier. no effects, though at about 30 minutes in (watching 'through a glass darkly'Pleased i noticed some strange effects, like colors washing over the TV. it was momentary, and for the rest of the night i was incredibly light headed (though consider it was 2am and i had been watching this ridiculous movie)... i need to get a MAOi quickly,

Yeah no problem. That's pretty cool you had light effects with no MAOI. That may be some decent Mimosa root after all! But did you purge? I couldn't imagine it being real mimosa hostiilis if the experience didn't involve a violent regurgitation lol.
