Does anyone know how to fight these diseases?
I'm having trouble with this for nearly two years now and it never leaves me completely. Most of the time it prevents me from drinking ayahuasca so it's not only pretty painful at times, but also hindering me.

I already stopped eating industrial food, white bread and stuff like that by 90%.

yeah 90% wasnt good enough for me..it needs to be gone 100%, and for me that meant 100% out of my diet for MONTHS before I really began to notice improvment for more than the odd day here and there ..also gluten can do some bad things in many people. Dairy was something that had to go. I cant eat ANY wheat or rye bread, or rice bread without internal digestion problems. Simply cutting otu white bread didnt do much.

Have you tried doing a mono diet for a period of time?..eating only one fruit like bananas for a week or so, or even a small variety of fruits and fresh water and nothing else to see if the symptoms start to dissapear? If they do then you can slowly add things in one at a time to see what works and what does not work.

I stay away from chlorinated tap water as well.

Also you might want to try adding in probiotics somehow. Yoghurt is a poor choice though IMO with all the shit in the milk and usually its pasturized anyway so its a dead culture. maybe kombucha if the slight .5% or so alcohol content doesnt bother you..or kimchi..or you can just take probiotic supplements but I feel like actaul cultured foods work better for me.

Maybe try cats claw or something for the immune system as well since your digestive lining is probly comprimised which makes it easier for shit to pass into the bloodstream that shouldnt be there, which is alot of work for the immune system.

Things which make heartburn/gastritis worse are:

1.alcohol;

2.smoking;

3.Non steroidal anti-inflammatories such as aspirin and ibuprofen;

4.structural problems such as a hiatus hernia (easily diagnosed on upper GI endoscopy);

5.infection in the lining of the stomach with a bug called Helicobacter Pylori-this can be diagnosed either by taking a biopsy when having an endoscopy or by a blood or stool test.If its present a double-barrelled course of antibiotics with a proton pump inhibitor (such as omeprazole) will usually sort it;

6.stress can add to the symptoms;

7.consider conditions which can mimic gatritis such as gallstones.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

Well, I currently eat fruit smoothies with nuts and oatmeal 5-6 days a week.
This I've been doing for several months now. In the beginning there was a real boost in wellbeing.

Not sure if this is "mono" enough, as i now read, that oatmeal can be gluten contaminated. I thought rice was gluten free ? I might want to try cats claw, as im ill 6-7 times every year (common cold) and feel pretty ill throughout the whole winter, with a few bright days here and there.

And corpus callosum, I've had endoscopy and was diagnosed with mild gastritis...but they said it would not account for my massive pain. Maybe i'm just hypersensitive to pain ?

It can be related to your food intake too, not only what (how heavy, digestive intolerances etc..), but I think also if you eat too fast and dont chew well it can increase chances of it happening (correct me if im wrong, corpus)

Here's one suggestion just to test: stop drinking milk for sometime.

I used to have heartburn few years back, I was drinking milk a lot (cereal in the morning, later at night, hot chocolates, etc), and when I greatly reduced my milk intake my heartburns basically dissapeared. See if it works for yourself.. But of course if you eat heavy and so on, try to change that too..

Good luck, and let us know if anything works!

What kind of fruits? Sour things like lemons, oranges, grapes etc can give some people heartburn.
Also stay away from coffee, tea and alcohol.

http://thehealthyskeptic.org/heartburn

People with those conditions, recommended these:
- ginger root capsules.
- Now Foods Super Enzymes
- Betaine HCl (if you have low stomach acid)
- apple cider vinegar (couple of tablespoons diluted in water, 3x per day)
- melatonin (paper, part two)

You could play with macronutrients.
Try eating coconut oil (idea how you react middle chained saturated fats), butter (long chained saturad fat), potato/rice (starch), honey (fructose), etc

According to wiki (lacking gliadin ; Gluten - prolamin and a glutelin,), rice hasn't got gluten per se so from that perspective it's ok to eat it although do soak if you eat brown rice.

Maybe interesting - "Oats can be symptomatically tolerated by most patients with coeliac disease; however, the long-term effects of a diet containing oats remain unknown. "

One (two ?) words. Vitamin D. Test. Aim for 40 (ng/ml ? I don't remember what the unit is). The optimum is really debatable, people recommend up to 80 for various health condition. If you want to read, read on son.

Godspeed.

Are there any particular foodstuffs that trigger your symptoms?

Mild gastritis can often be asymptomatic so I doubt that would account for severe pains.

Any weight loss/regular medications/other ailments?

Any change in your bowel habit or stool or urine color when the pain is present?

Lastly, did they take a biopsy of your stomach lining when you had your endoscopy and have you had a chest xray??

Very nice to recieve so many helpful replies...Very happy
Never could have hoped for scientific articles being posted wow! Thank you!

I don't drink milk most days of the weak, basically no alcohol..sometimes coffee.
Testing food..well..i've got the symptoms all the time even if i do not eat anything at all. But eating helps to reduce pain. Someone said that this might be due to damaged stomach lining and that food kinda protects it from stomach acid. But also produces more acid...

I recently started to eat some ginger, but not regularly. Perhaps i should. Vitamin D ...hmm...need to read about it.

biopsy...i don't know. chest xray: Several times i think...

I also went to a pneumologist, a radiologist, an otolaryngologist, a neurologist .. had bloodsamples taken - nothing.

But i believe it must be the stomach because food changes the condition so drasticaly, if only for a couple of minutes...

I also took omeprazole for a couple of weeks, at least 5 types of over the counter anti-acid tabs ...eating massive amounts of healing earth helps for a while...

The person recommended 1-2 capsules (powdered ginger root).

Obliguhl,

I know what you may feel... suffering also for stomach pains after any meal (few hours later usualy).
Tried to 'identify' what could be 'bad' food and 'ok' food for my stomach. In the end, I eliminated so much foods : no milk, no alcohol, no coffe, no fruits, no tea, no chocolate, no eggs, no fat meat, no fat anything, no cake that could include egg or milk, no this, no that... and logically since few months things get even worse, lost weights and lost a lot of energy.

Nothing visible on scans, nor in endoscopy (except chronical gastritis). Blood sample quite good except now a B12 and iron lack (logical)
Stress is a high factor of increasing the problem.

At this point the most efficient medical help was with esomeprazole which really helped me (much more 'powerfull' than omeprazole). And (industrial) nutritional complements (bunch of protein, lipid, glucid, vitamins in liquid form). With such high calories diet, I can eat less without losing weight.

Spent so much time googling to find a solution... but there are so much way to be ill Rolling eyes

Crohn disease is a possibility... requires more investigations... Sad

honesltly man this sounds like its approaching what I went though. I went to all these doctors who didnt seem to do a damn thing about it. taking antacids and ginger etc seems like a quick fix band aid at the most. This IS NOT sopposed to happen when we eat food. We are NOT sopposed to have to run out and take ginger capsuled every time we eat etc etc. There are alot of opinions here which is fine but how many people here have actaully had to deal with such a condition? All I can say is that eat ANY ammount of refined foods, dairy, meat, drinking ANY coffee, alcohol etc would instigate symptoms. Simply not having dairy or wheat or coffee etc most days was not enough in my case. Sounds like your degestive system is way fucked up man to be honest. This is not the first health problem you have discussed having on this forum. You have many times complained of other chronic problems in threads and on the chat..How diligent have you really been with diet and stress reduction etc? Do YOU feel like there is more than you could be doing? I dont want to sound harsh, but I know that for me I didnt want to believe that I actaully had to do the things I had to do to get to where I am. I didnt like listening to people talk about me only eating fruits and green vegetables for long period of time..not having any caffine at all for many months..no nuts, no seeds no dairy whatsoever. Eventually though I was sick of suffering and there was a point where I became more a victim of my own clingy ego than I was a victim of anything or anyone else.

The only thing that helped me was going on a 100% raw fruit diet for extended periods..that means no nuts either. I dont live like this, but I do continue eating this way for periods of time, sometimes living on only fresh fruit and veggie juices for a week or so until I add in heavier foods such as raw and sprouted nuts and seeds. I can definatily say from my experience with a severe digestive illness that trying something for 1,2 or even 3 weeks isnt necessarily enough. If your body is that out of wack you might have to be diligent and deal with the really shitty situation of increasing symptoms that manifest as your body detoxes. Im not a doctor, nor do I need to be to tell you that your body has accumulated toxins, and to get better you need those toxins flushed from your system..that takes time.

Stress plays a role here too, releasing more stessful hormones into your system..which are essentially toxins at that point.

I dont care to debate this with anyone. I am just telling you what I know about these sorts of illnesses based on my own horrible(and enlightening) experience with such an illness and the extensive research I have done.

Quick fix pills for indigestion etc as a solution are the WORST idea possible IMO..sure take some ginger capsules in the meantime, but thats not really an answer to your problem. Humans are not meant to have to take pills or other things in order to properly digest food. A healthy system with the right kind of food the body alligns with should not have these issues.

Your health is in your hands and nooone elses. I was so fucked up at one point man. My colon was inflamed for a year and I was in pain, I couldnt digest anything. I had acid reflux..I had ulcers and thinned stomach lining which led to leaky gut, combined with yeast problems that were out of controll, eventually infecting my prostate gland..doctors told me I had colitus, inflamed bowels, chrons..I heard all these things. The ONLY thing that really changed anything was going on a very bland fruitarian diet, and switching to pure wild spring water, and cutting out all stimulants, even cannabis for a good 6 months. The only psychedelic I took for a many months was ayahausca. I can tell you I see people all the time that complain of these sorts of things. They suffer and suffer and take all kinds of pills and dont seem to get any better. Only when people make drastic changes to diet do they seem to improve. These will be different for everyone since everyones body will react to differen things. this is why allergy tests are important. I also went to regular doctors who gave me skin prick tests and cheapo blood tests that told me nothing. I had to go to a naturalpathic physician and pay like 200 bucks to get thourough blood tests done to actaully find out what I was allergic to. Cutting out those foods helped, but still she told me to eat fish and nuts and buffalo meat if I could handle it. I am grateful to her becasue she helped somewhat, but still not enough. I had to cut out all of that stuff and eat nothign but fresh fruits and greens for a period of time to really get to where I am now.

Im sorry if this sounds arrogant, but I have actaully been there so I feel for you and hate hearing about people suffering when really you can heal. I believe the body is alot more flexible than people are made to believe it is, you just have to give it what it really needs, and take away what it does not.

Interresting points and I will investigate them further.

But saying
Quote:
"We are NOT sopposed to have to run out and take ginger capsuled every time we eat etc etc."

Is very similar to "we are NOT supposed to eat only fruits"

Or say to a diabetic "you are NOT supposed to take insulin..."

I mean everybody is different. Everybody has to search for himself and hints are welcome but what makes ones 'think' that he is on the good path ?
Prehistory people were rarely living above 40 year so there is no easy way to say that the 'natural' food (unprocessed) was better for a long and healthy life.

In your experience, did eating fruits worsen things at the beginning ?

I switched from a regular diet to a 80% fruit-nuss smoothie one a couple of months ago. But every weekend i indulged. I will now try to up this to 95%. I would love to drink green smoothies and cut out the nuts but my financial situation just does not allow that. I can spend only 200$ monthly on food ..and that does not buy you tons of raw food. Without nuts, i could not survive on that amount.

I already drastically highered my food budget and now it it's approaching the limit as im a student with a monthly allowance of what welfare would pay (and that's not even enough).

Good to hear about your success and i really wish to be able to afford a more healthy lifestyle in the future and its frustrating to see my health degrade without being able to do much about it. But im sure im not the only person in this situation. And yes, it is very stressful to be in pain all the time and to not have a perspective in life and i feel that the negative aspects of my life feed each other. I don't understand how most people can get by living an even crappier lifestyle. Better genetics I guess. But self-pitty does not help. I can just try to try harder...hopefully, there will be a way.

Thanks for your encouragement!

Also, good luck to garulfo , i hope you'll be healed...

yeah thats the one thing..eating this way is $$, whish is sad since we are sopposed to be such an advanced culture, yet real food costs more to eat than processed modified toxified burned poisonous garbage. Go figureConfused

minxx and me could never survive on $200 a month eating this way..$400 a month mayyyybbe. Most of our money goes to food.

Being sick while at having to deal with being a student sucks also. Eventaully I had to just drop put of college becasue I was feeling to bad to be there most of the time and needed time away from all that stuff to just get well.

Mushrooms kinda opened my eyes. The first time i saw raw fruits and vegetables as something really precious. Not just some kind of bland, primitive food in relation to the processed, flavoured and canned goods we're used to eat.

From this moment on, i tried to eat more of the good stuff, but always tried to keep the overall consumption down to save money. It's ridiciolous how expensive fresh fruits and vegetable are ...especially if you take into account, that you have to eat TONS of them to get rid of your hunger.

College is good for me because i meet people at least occasionaly. On welfare, i'd just sit in a small room, waiting for my life to happen, while in college i at least have some opportunitys to socialize and therefore reducing stress. Not having a real social net is really stressing me out and i'm sure that it does not help my situation...

So sometimes you manuver yourself into situations were you just can't do anything. But there are tons of people living a worse life, even though i'm far from being rooted in life. So you just should be happy for whatever amount of good moments you still have left, even if its hard to internalize.

Get ready for the long road out of hell. I have the same problems. I didn't start dealing with it until I quit drinking alcohol because booze will mask it and temporarily alleviate digestive issues before making them worse.

Get DGL tablets to chew 20-30 minute before every meal. Look up the celiac diet.

STOP EATING DAIRY AND ALL ANIMAL PRODUCT because it destroys your digestion.

Do everything you can to reduce the stress in your life, your problems WILL flair up when you get stressed out. The beginning of many powerful journeys can cause stress out of fear/change, and thus giving heartburn/acid reflux.

If you have any question about diet and or habits that will change this for you please do not hesitate to PM me with your questions. This is no way to live and it has taken me years to correct the bad habits I had developed.

Maasai, Inuts.

I personally haven't heard of a hunter gatherer society of vegetarians. I've read about lacto-vegetarians in India but that's it.

So, I hope you understand why I find your statement a little unfounded.
