I must have missed something important, since i have no clue what everybody is talking about and i mean, if it makes the international headlines it must be at least as relevant as a tsunami or nuclear disaster right?
So tell me, what did i miss?

I have a fantasy that it's because he's doing drugs and refusing to apologize for doing drugs. And he will be the catalyst that stops all celebrities from apologizing for doing drugs. Then everyone will stop apologizing for doing drugs, Then people will start having honest conversations about why people take drugs. Then the people who need help because of the way they take drugs, will get the help they need. Then people will learn how to use drugs responsibly, even alcohol. Then unicorns will pop out of soap bubbles in a dish on the whitehouse lawn and grow to "actual size" and fly all over the world, shooting healing rainbows as they go. Manna will fall from heaven and snakes will grow legs. Dogs and cats will teach each other to make paper airplanes and....

we will find out that we can get DMT crystals by freeze precipitating our own urine.

Because the media is serving to distract the public from issues that would be very much in the public's interest and welfare to know. Things such as the attempt to sell Wisconsin's infrastructure "for pennies on the dollar," or how Bradley Manning, the unrecognized hero of all oppressed and poor people everywhere who leaked 250,000 U.S. Embassy documents to Wikileaks, is being kept in 23-hour solitary confinement and made to strip when he is allowed out, or how our government is going to censor innovation over the internet so that Hollywood can continue to brainwash people into having attention spans no longer than two presidential terms, into loving things that don't last and don't love back, brainwash us into "considering females rather as women than human creatures... make them alluring mistresses [rather] than affectionate wives and rational mothers," into believing that other good people are the cause of our problems.

First, the media wants us to believe everybody is talking about Charlie Sheen.

Then, the media shows us the illusion that everybody is talking about Charlie Sheen.

Now everybody is talking about Charlie Sheen.

This sounds plausible indeed.
Maybe some newscorp CEO wanted to impress his girlfriend saying:"i'm so powerfull i can make everybody talk about charlie sheen for weeks on, just watch..".

Why do people slow down when they see a car crash?
